Arrived very much later than planned due to the flight arrival, still able to gain entry to the hotel using the keyless door entry system which allowed the booking name to be used to unlock the door. Hotel was clean and had complimentary chilled, still or sparkling water available on arrival.

As far as I'm concerned there were no negative elements to the hotel.

We was there for England v serbia in gelsenkirchen which is 25 mins away by car As there's always problems getting out of schalke stadium we parked just outside the stadium. Location of hotel was perfect Free parking €10 for a plentiful breakfast Rooms nice & big 3 of us Plenty of restaurants walking distance Irish pub also but no food but let's you bring food in Nice quiet area Area nice & safe Easy to find by sat nav

Hotel mirena is SPOTLESSLY clean. The owners are very helpful and flexible. Although they don't describe themselves as being able to speak English, the lady of the house is much better than she says. Breakfast was very good,, and plentiful. Make sure that you pre-order though. It's not available "on the day". My bedroom, and ensuite shower room, was very spacious. The location great, just a few metres from several restaurants and shops. Having visited Alt Marl many times over more than 20 years, I know several restaurants are good. I was there for a friend's funeral. The cemetery is directly across the road.

It's a shame that the restaurant has not been able to open for evening since Covid. It's a good looking place. So dinner (or lunch) not available Be aware that the whole of Alt Marl now closes very early. I arrived at 9pm on Thursday. Not a single restaurant was open. Mirena does have a vending machine for cold drinks and snacks.

Restaurant is open only for breakfast, room is ok, however nothing special. There is no receptionist at evening, you need to self checkin and we did not received this info up front when booking.

Every time staying in Marl I choose Mirena. Really appreciate the service and how driendly the staff are. Reccomend!

Hotel for a quick stop for a sleepover or going to Movie Park as we did. 20 min drive from Hotel. Price/Value matched our expectations. Nice room, we had double interconnected rooms. Good breakfast and nice hospitality.

We arrived really early and the staff could not do enough for us in getting us a room with 45 minutes- amazing work and thank you. Breakfast is well worth the €10 and should be tried

Good sized room and very clean. Hotel is close to a nice park for the dogs.

Hotel itself has seen better days, a few broken things here and there.. temporary repairs to things etc... needs some extra care in places.

Breakfast was an excellent assortment. Room was spacious, clean and curtains and shutters in good operational condition. Access to room is easy and well-organized.

Shower operation was greatly variable between hot and cold. Hotel is close to busy road, and without fans or air conditioning, this could be an issue for some on a hot day. Fortunately the owner had the place aiready aired out prior to our arrival.

the rooms are very clean and comfortable. the pictures are not doing them justice. the staff is very nice and accommodating. Very good breakfast, all in all good value
