Fantastic hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the food in the restaurant was great - both the pasta they dished up for us with no fuss at 22.30 after the football and the breakfast included in the price of the room. We came for the Euros, so booked what we thought was a cheap and cheerful hotel that would fit the bill, safe to say La Scala far exceeded expectations. (They also let us stay and do a couple of hours work in the restaurant after checkout which was incredibly helpful).

Clean and comfortable rooms with an Italian restaurant just outside. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, served in a traditional Italian style.

I can't say that I didn't like anything. The only downside is that the hotel is located about an hour from Gelsenkirchen main station. However, the location itself is great, within walking distance of Sankt Urbanus Kirche. Tram 302 and then bus 383 will take you from the station to a stop near the hotel.

Hotel La Scala is near to center of Geilserkirhen, Westphalian University of applied science, have a good breakfast, Italian meal and very nice owner. If you are businessmen, professor or person who love small , intime hotel, than is definitely La Scala.

Location is very good , as it's close to the motorways. We use this hotel as a transit stop for our yearly journeys to our final destination. We've beem there several times and we come back with pleasure.

Small hotel, near to city, westphalian university. Super for professor's, PhD students in Erasmus Erasmus exchange. Relatively cheep for this area. Personal is very good, gently, you fill this domestic atmosphere. Cuisine is Italian and very good.

Restaurant downstairs if you don't want to go out for dinner. Breakfast was very good.

Parking very limited in their lot, you will need to park on the street.

Good location, restaurant look lovely and the breakfast was really nice. Staff very friendly and welcoming, WiFi was good and was ample street parking.

Was a little bit hot in the room with no fan or air conditioning.

nice place, we enjoyed our one night stay. Good restaurant for dinner options, breakfast was nice as well. for us an option to charge the car was essential, comes at extra fixed coat of 25 eur though

There is no elevator and the room was on the first floor. Being Monday, the restaraunt was closed so we had to find a restaraunt in the town centre
