We stayed here so we could be closer to the glacier lagoon and skaftafell national park. It was clean and comfortable and worked fine for spending the night. It was great to have a restaurant on the property to eat dinner since there aren’t many places to eat along the road.

It was more expensive than other, nicer hotels we stayed in during our iceland trip, but I think we were paying for location more than anything as there aren’t a whole lot of inexpensive hotels out where we wanted to stay. The walls of the room were quite thin so other guests who got up early in the morning to leave made quite the ruckus that was hard to sleep through. All in all though it was fine for what we needed

Our family, of course, stayed two nights while sightseeing day nearby attractions. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good and served early enough for us to leave for our to get to locations for our tours. We were able to see the northern lights from the roof deck of the hotel.

Although not include included, it is part of the hotel, the restaurant for dinner was OK but not great. It had three or four items for the main dish and one or two were to be served cold. The restaurant has a great view of the valley, but for choices and other I would look elsewhere.

We really enjoyed the hotel. The room was very nice. The showers were hot and the breakfast was amazing. The only comment we have is we would recommend that they put some type of non-skid on the ramp going down from the entrance. My wife slipped and hit her head on the ramp. And as we were leaving, a young girl, also slipped right out in front of us. So I know that the staff had mentioned that they tried putting out signs and salting it down and things like that, but I think that if you put nonskid Tape or something on the ramp that would help a lot. The stairs are one thing they could probably use it also, but the ramp definitely was very slippery.

The view from the room—especially the side facing the lake—is stunning. We stayed for one night with cloudy weather, but I believe the sunrise would be absolutely breathtaking on a clear day. The area around the hotel is also very walkable, making it a pleasant place to relax and enjoy with your companions.

The double bed was made up of two single beds, which is common in Iceland. However, they were not covered with a single sheet, so the beds tended to separate easily. I found myself needing to adjust them occasionally while resting with my partner.

We really liked the hotel for a short stay. Beautiful location, comfortable beds, and a convenient shower. Breakfast was included.

Unfortunately, staying longer than one day at this hotel would be uncomfortable for me… The rooms lack a fridge, more coffee, and utensils. Also, the breakfast menu is very, very limited — probably the smallest selection I’ve ever seen. Be sure to wash your small towels – we found them full of various hairs :(

Restaurant and breakfast were excellent. Lovely options. The tomato paprika soup was wonderful and the bread that went with it was amazing.

We understand it was very busy the days we stayed with tours and many other travelers, which made booking individual rooms very difficult to come by. But with this limitation, we still were able to make it work as the staff was able to set up the room to accommodate two individual travelers. Much appreciated.

Hot breakfast. Friendly staff. Very clean. Nice location. Our room was spacious, but it was a deluxe room. And there were no deluxe rooms near the elevator.

Very pricey. For over$400 US per night, I would have expected if not bell service, at least a bell cart to bring in our luggage. We were on our own, which as a handicapped person, was challenging.

I spent only one night in this hotel but really enjoyed it. The bar area has a super cool view — the perfect spot to drink tea or wine on a rainy day in a cozy atmosphere. Rooms are clean, the food is good, and overall I definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent dinner & breakfast buffet. Room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. BONUS - the room was for two people, and it had TWO comfortable chairs!!!!! (my pet peeve is hotel rooms set up for two people that only have one or -0- chairs.)

It met my expectations

This was an excellent hotel, the room was spacious and the view was lovely. We ate in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the burger and soup. The breakfast choice was varied and plenty of it. The staff were most helpful when I asked for hot water for my flask. Overall this Hotel did exceed my expectations. Highly recommended.
