The hotel is perfectly set on the Iceland's ring road between Skaftafell and Vík, so a great location for staying on your road trip. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and very clean. All rooms have balcony, which is nice for taking some fresh air. Our family was accommodated in rooms just next to each other as requested, which made our stay easier. Restaurant is very good and we've spent a great night together enjoying nice meals in its comfortable area. Breakfast was very good with various options for a great start of the day. Staff was nice and unobtrusive.

It is a pricey option, but may other options were already fully booked.

- Probably the best Fosshotel where we stayed. - Hotel has nice exterior and design. Located in the fields with nice surrounding views. - Breakfast was good. Nothing special though. - There was a kettle and a drier in the room to dry our clothes, which is quite important in Iceland. - Room was clean and comfortable with good bed and shower. - There was a small terrace in front of our room where we did yoga in the morning with nice view on the mountains. Terrace was a bit small though that we barely put two yoga mats there.

- We found only decaf coffee sticks in the room - It would be great if the terrace was a little bit bigger

We are a family of four and traveled around the southern coast of Iceland from Reykjavik to Diamond Beach. Fosshotel Nupar was a wonderful base for our last two days of sightseeing in the area. Set in a lovely isolated setting we were lucky enough to arrive on the only sunny day of our trip and could see stunning views of Vatnajökull glacier in the distance. We had two rooms and the rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and had plenty of choices. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and it was lovely as well. Overall we had a great stay.

The location is ideal, in the midst of the important sites of Iceland, and the staff was extremely efficient and nice.

It is really not ideal to have this pervasive fad of a comforter covered in sheeting, as it is too warm in summer, so I kept waking up either cold from tossing it off or excessively warm if covered with one. Finally, I used the bath towel and a scarf to cover myself and fell asleep for a few more hours. Everyone uses them here in Iceland and at home, so it is a general comment for all hotels, and is not specific to this very nice hotel.

Comfortable beds, pretty much in the center of town or within walking distance to it, depending what you’re looking for. A small on-site parking lot out back, where we were luckily able to snag a spot for our one night there.

Exterior looks quite beaten down and a bit sketchy, I was a little worried walking up to it, but it’s perfectly nice inside. Not sure why their hot water had such a strong sulphuric smell compared to Hotel Odinsve nearby, which did not. And the room was really very cramped. But it was fine for a quick sleep before our flight home.

We booked the superior double room having read reviews about small rooms. We did not experience this with our room. The room was really spacious with lots of space to store our luggage and hang our clothes. The bathroom was spotless and a very good size with a rainfall shower. The breakfast was the best we had in Iceland. A delightful selection of both hot and cold to cater for all tastes. Great location for exploring further afield.

Due to the unseasonal mild weather, there were quite a few puddles in the car park that can not be seen when it’s dark. This unfortunately led to wet feet.

The bed was really comfortable. Room and bathroom very clean, and great shower. There was a mini fridge in the room, so we could store some food. In the room, there was some complementary tea and coffee, and we enjoyed it in the evening. There was a private terrace in front of the room.

We chose the place because of the location close to the glacier, and we knew in advance that there was a hotel without a shhared kitchen, so we could not cook. If preferred, there is a restaurant for dinner and breakfast in the hotel.

The hotel is located in a place where you would definitely would not expected a hotel to be - in the middle of a lava field. It is remote, but in this case I would consider this as an advantage due to spectacular views. You can literally just go out of your room through a terrace door right to the lava field and wander around. The hotell staff was friendly and the food in the restaurant was very good. Very comfortable beds in the rooms.

Nothing.

Our overall stay was good, the room rate was decent but breakfast was not included. The property location is in the middle of nowhere which is perfect for northern lights viewing. We stayed for two nights of which the second night had higher KP index, so we saw northern lights right from the private balcony. We slept the entire night with drapes open and staring at the pretty lights right from the window on a cozy bed. Loved the stay!!

Breakfast was not included in the rate and $18 for per person felt expensive.

Beautifully located in the vast middle of Icelandic nowhere. Great view. Standard breakfast buffet and the a la carte restaurant serves good food with friendly service. Our triple room was a bit small, with no real space to put your luggage, but they were redecorating rooms with a nice solution to that problem. Beds were very comfortable. The sink in our bathroom didn’t drain upon arrival and the doors of the shower cabin were really dirty on the lower part. When I reported it, it was dealt with adequately. Furthermore you’d expect the room to be a bit more luxurious for the nightly rate they charge.

Hygiene could be better. Triple rooms are small.
