Great location to break the journey travelling from South to North France. The hotel is very close to the train station but not far at all from the A6 motorway. The hotel parking was on the premises, at he back of the hotel, but we paid a little extra to use it (€8). People at the reception were very kind and they gave us an excellent suggestion for dinner as the hotel restaurant was fully booked. I stayed with my family in two rooms next to each other, they were spacious and tastefully renovated. Breakfast was terrific well worth for €14 (kids eat free).

No major issues, just minor things: a) room was quite small and adequate, rather than great; housekeeping left us only 2 almost fully used up toilet rolls - showing lack of attention to details; toilet brush holder was leaking onto bathroom floor which was not very hygienic;

The hotel offered secured parking at a reasonable rate. The location was a good 15 minutes walk from the old town and the key buildings to see. The bed was comfortable, wifi worked well and everything was very clean. We did not have much time for breakfast, but it looked like it had a really broad range of items, including a few warm dishes. As long as you could communicate in French, the staff were very helpful. If you arrive by train, the hotel is extremely close to the station. However, our room was still quite quiet.

The reception really had limited English capability. The double room we had was relatively small without a working table- absolutely fine for one night, but potentially an issue if you want to work in your room or you are staying more days.

Great location in city centre with private parking available. Staff friendly and helpful. Use of spa facilities included for guests which was very welcome after a long drive. Brasserie on site served excellent dinner and breakfast . Restaurant staff charming. Broadband speeds excellent

Our room was a little small but the staff had made a special effort to accommodate my husband who has mobility issues. Perhaps that was the only room with a step free walk in shower?

Room was large comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was a good size. There was some parking at a reasonable price. Everyone was very friendly and generally helpful. Reception spoke some English ( prompted by my poor pronunciation of French!!) I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Some noise from stairs next to room 115. Breakfast was rather chaotic! I think the organisation of breakfast was the greatest let down. We had to ask for food to be replaced on self service, the staff were very focussed on cleaning tables, but seemed unaware of problems with food service area.

We were traveling by train and Chalon sur Saone was just an overnight stop. The hotel was super close to the station which helped greatly given we had multiple bags and a dog. The rooms were really modern and clean and everything thought through for a comfortable stay. It was also probably the quietest room I’ve ever stayed in. We didn’t hear any noise at all. There are restaurants, cafés and shops all around. We found the town very charming.

The breakfast buffet is located in two small rooms adjacent to the breakfast room which are really tight and all the people trying to get their breakfast crammed in. It was quite stressful and there was a lot if queueing. Perhaps they could put the coffee machine in a different place to separate people getting food from those getting drinks Nd thereby reduce the crowd in the buffet space?

A very well appointed hotel with a secure car park conveniently located close to the city centre & Soane river. The hotel is near to the railway station but don't let that put you off, it's nice and quiet with no train noise. I was traveling alone so the room facilities were fine for 1 night. I had a lovely walk around the city/down to the river and found plenty of choice for places to eat

No criticisms, good breakfast & check-in/out. There's a spa which I didn't use so can't comment but the treatments looked nice if you were there for 2+ days. I was just an overnight on my return to the UK from Italy

The hotel is in a good position, with private parking. The room was perfect and spacious, with a comfy bed. Breakfast was excellent. We travelled with our dog, and the hotel staff was so kind as to provide us with a dog bed, two bawls, and some dog biscuits. We really appreciate the kindness in caring for us and our dog. All the staff was kind and friendly.

We like everything about our stay!

We were looking for a place to stay near the motorway to break up our drive south. This was easy to find, with safe parking at the back of the hotel for €8. Room was quiet, comfortable, great shower - nicer than the photos suggested. Breakfast was great, the staff friendly and helpful. We’ll use this again when driving through France.

This was an overnight stop as expected. On arrival we were able to get a coffee from the receptionist but nothing else was available and there were no facilities in the room. The hotel was not busy but we were given a room at the end of a long corridor and up a short flight of stairs, maybe this was because we were a genius booking. Parking was good and private, so often now we find that hotels say they have parking and we find it is not their own private parking. This is winter so the restaurant was very quiet but there were plenty of staff and the food was fine.

As I said above we could have been given a better situated room, without such a long walk as we could see that the hotel was not busy.
