Everything. The breakfast was amazing. The quality and presentation exceeded my expectations. I particularly enjoyed the sashimi (changes everyday) and the coffee (made by the chef). Quite impressed with the selection of coffee beans. Also the service was top notch. It was the end of our two-week trip in Japan and the service was the best among 8 hotels we stayed. The attentiveness and consideration of the staff deserve a big applause.

The tap sensor and small water flow, which makes washing a bit difficult. But understand it is for the good intention (saving water).

It is rare to find a place that is still following the Eastern Asian philosophy about the sea, where the beach is not playing as a protagonist, where the waves, mountains, and pine trees stand together to illustrate the tradition that is about to be forgotten. This is a quiet lovely place located next to a fish port in front of a steep mountain wall, almost like the setup from an ancient tale about The Peach Blossom Spring. going down this road, you could walk to the famous Jyogasaki coast. there will be no convenience store or such, better to buy some before going if you need anything. The location is quite far away from the stations, it will take 30 mins to get there on foot. The good news is that the hotel will offer free shuffle. Here is the hotel, there are 2 giant Chinese lion statues in front of the place, which is a surprise, The room is very spacious, the bed is comfortable, and there is nothing to complain about, There will be some bugs and Insects, but treat these guests friendly. you can have your private bay right next to the balcony. soaking in the outdoor bath while listening to the song of the sea, and watching the pine tree touching the sky. feels like the time has slowed down in this little bay where you can finally chill a bit. The food is decent and highly recommended, and both breakfast and dinners are up to expectations. all the staff are very friendly so it will be a joyful experience overall. If you like diving and fishing, there are several locations around the hotel to allow you to do that, and you could rent the gear from the local diving equipment store. Overall it is worth the price, and if you like to have quality time with family, this would be one of your best choices in the area.

well, several things I wanna bring up 1. The photo and the room types do not match, they put all the rooms with outdoor baths under the same category but only used one of the best rooms to present. but in reality, each room is different, the size of the bath, the layout of the room, the view from the room, etc. It is a bit stretching to claim they are all the same room type. I think maybe a better practice would be to list each room as a separate option on the booking sites, which is more common for boutique resorts. 2. The room is spacious, but also a bit empty. maybe add one piece of furniture such as a sofa or something, but this is purely subjective.

Easily the best dining experience we had in 3 weeks travelling around Japan, and amazingly good value (9000 yen pp for dinner). The staff are super friendly and rooms are few, giving the place a warm family-ran atmosphere. Location wise, you're a few minutes walk from the spectacular Jogasaki coast and suspension bridge. Our room was huge by Japan standards, and the private mini-onsen on the balcony a memorable addition. Highly recommended.

Whilst you can easily hike to the coast, it's difficult to go further without a car as it's around 25 minutes walk to the nearest train stations. The nearest convenience stores are a similar distance, although with the hotel food so good you can probably do without! A vending machine with beers and cup noodles is available in the hotel.

Everything was excellent as expected. The highlight was the private bath on the balcony, where we could enjoy the hot spring while listening to the ocean breeze and waves. Highly recommended for honeymooners. At night, you can even observe individual stars. The staff were very friendly as well. However, the Western-style course dinner had slightly heavy sauces. Also, compared to typical fine dining, the table decoration was somewhat minimal. I think it would have been better if they had focused on Japanese cuisine instead. Breakfast was Japanese-style and generally good, though I wished it had captured more of the characteristic Japanese simplicity, freshness, and elegance.

Dinner and breakfast were exceptionally delicious and beautifully presented. A true work of art. We chose to eat all of our meals at the hotel. The entire staff was warm, welcoming and very professional. Vivian was absolutely delightful and made our stay very memorable. We appreciated the shuttle service between the train station and the hotel. The nearby Jogasaki Trail offered stunning scenery.

Our room was very simple and small and the bath room area was tiny. The shower was not adequate nor was it very private since it was located on a porch with open windows. The water wasn’t hot enough and it was a hand held shower.

This resort was absolutely wonderful. Ryokan type experience but in a western style environment with hardwood floors in the rooms. The staff are so warm and kind and go above and beyond to provide amazing service. Huge room with outdoor open air bath overlooking the ocean, bed was super firm with great pillows, and there was a huge smart TV which was a welcome break from 5 Japanese TV channels at other hotels. The food served at dinner and breakfast was a real highlight...each dish was amazing made with local ingredients, presented like works of art. Coming here was the most memorable part of our entire Japan trip.

There was nothing we didn't love

One of the best breakfast I ever had in Japan. Dinner was Michelin worthy. Warm service. Nice little peaceful hotel. I would love to go back to the hotel. Too bad we didn't have much time to chat with the chef as we were so tired from a day trip. Private onsen can be booked easily and included in the room price. Location is perfect for us as we drive. We would love to know more about the chef and his inspiration in creating this nice meal.

Bed linen could be improved. I understand that they have been washed but there are stain that make the stay a bit less than perfect. For triple room, it would be nice to have additional chair at the coffee table.

This boutique resort hotel is exceptional! The pre-arranged shuttle was waiting for us at the train station when we arrived. The rooms we booked had private baths on our own decks with wonderful views of the ocean and trees, including the morning sunrise! We also enjoyed the private onsen that could be reserved. The French-Asian fusion dinner was exquisite and deserves a Michelin rating. The staff spoke English and were so welcoming and attentive. Special thanks to Hide, owner chef, who was born in Maui; Hirai, manager; and Vivian, receptionist and server, who also performed so beautifully on the piano during dinner, we thought we were listening to a recording! Wonderful stay!

ISANA is beautifully located with ocean views directly from your private balcony onsen (as well as the larger onsen that you can book for free). All meals were truly exceptional, I cannot recommend the food enough.

ISANA is somewhat isolated, in terms of geography. Staff are more than willing to drive you to the train station nearby but there isn't a whole lot in terms of amenities or groceries within a walkable distance. The beds are not the most comfortable, but this is a minor complaint when compared to how amazing ISANA was in every other way.

We had a lovely stay at ISANA Premium Suite. The suite was spacious, and we were fortunate to witness a perfect sunrise from our private terrace. The starry nights were unforgettable. Although the private onsen was small, it was awesome. The staff were very helpful, especially Vivian, who was very attentive to our needs. She provided detailed introductions to each course during dinner and breakfast, and we enjoyed every dish. We appreciate the dedication of the chef (the owner) and felt blessed to stay at this hotel. We will definitely come back. Thank you, Vivian, for the live performance of Canon in D. ISANA is just a 5-minute drive from Jogasaki Coast, making it a perfect location.

The suite is so spacious that it can be easy to misplace things and difficult to find them again.
