Room&hotel as such was very clean,beautifull and pleasant style as well breakfast was well done and varied.Location was centric close to old city and restaurants.Confirm of having park place before hand by email was very kind and stressless.Service in reception was very good and nice.Terrace outside was very pleasant,extremely with cofee&tea hotel offered-nice way!

Temperature of room was high,but two windows helped us,then sounds of night street (cars, people)were disturbing a bit (thanks for earplugs).At home I use kind of Tempura pillow so the hotels'one was quite different to have a neck relaxing,finally I managed.Pancakes were so good-they even finished.

Easy to make a reservation. Check-in was easy. All staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The room and hotel were clean. The location was good for touring (walking) the city. Breakfast was average but well attended by staff.

The Hotel has very few windows. On warm days with limited building ventilation, the top (attic level) floor room became unsuitably too warm. Room had only 1 skylight window to open. A fan was provided, but barely adequate. The reception desk is not staffed after 17:00 .

The breakfast is great, the beds very comfortable, the room has a great atmosphere with a view over the harbour and the location is just perfect. The final thing to point out is that the staff is excellent. One person to mention especially is Sandra in the reception who is a real gem and very professional while still being personal and social.

Opening hours in the reception could be a little bit later than they are. The patio on the back of the hotel has great potential, but needs a little bit of TLC, it looks run-down and not like the picture on their homepage

We have stayed at Slottbacken on several occasions during the years and it's still a favorite in Visby. Out-of-season prices are extremely good value for money, the location is perfect, the breakfast excellent, the rooms cosy and the staff has always been great here (thank you Sandra and Jenny). There is also a small space to park the car (at a slight fee). The superior room we stayed on (on two levels) was tastefully decorated. And the same goes for the rest of the hotel btw

When we arrived, the room was cold. Just a suggestion, please turn on the radiators before a guest has arrived during colder days :) The bed and pillows were a bit on the "soggy" side and could do with an upgrade. The sofa in the superior room was also in need of some TLC, it was extremely lumpy to sit in and not very comfortable. The heating in the bathroom didn't work although we tried all kinds of settings. We also felt a bit sorry for the lone cleaner who was sometimes overloaded with work on certain days when there were many guests, a help during more hectic days might be a good idea

We had a lovely stay here. Beautiful, historical building. Private parking. Great breakfast and very friendly, helpful staff. We had to leave very early when we checked out and were happy to receive a takeaway breakfast with us!

The room we booked was very small. Absolutely worth the good price though, but don't bring too big suitcase with you if you book this room!

Very close to ferry so climbing up and down the hill with luggage is minimal. Breakfast was good.

I didn’t realize we’d have a deluxe room with steep stairs to the bed and bath. Could be hard if you need to be careful with stairs. No a/c and no window covering so sun wakes you up at 3:45 in summer.

This hotel is a gem, served by a casual and professional staff who knew exactly how to help us get checked in and settled. The location was excellent and picturesque, and it being a historic hotel didn't mean we wanted for any modern conveniences. The breakfast was excellent as well each day.

There was nothing we didn't appreciate or like about the hotel. The location meant working out public parking pay, but in a medieval city, we didn't expect a garage or car park. We will return again if we're able to travel to Visby in the future.

Nobody in reception before 7:30 and after 5. The bed and the room were not done the last day and we supposed that it was because we left next morning because we have no other explanation

Great breakfast. Room was cosy. Great location. Ideal place to stay. Walking distance to everything but also away from the noise.

The room was quite tight although we did opt for a smaller/cheaper room.
