This hotel is quite new and is a beautiful piece of modern design. The interiors are warm and welcoming with lots of wood and beautiful lighting. Service was excellent. Our triple room was spacious by Japanese standards and had the same warm welcoming vibe as the rest of the hotel. Beds were super comfy with the puffiest down duvets on them to keep us warm. The Onsen Bath on the balcony was amazing. We were lucky enough to have snow falling for most of our stay and it was so lovely to lie in the Onsen Bath and watch the snow. Location right in the centre of Minikami Onsen meant we could easily walk to restaurants and a supermarket. We loved our stay here and would definitely book again!

Only thing we didn't really like was the lighting in the bathroom, as it made it hard to see, but that is a very minor thing.

I like the hotel is new. room is clean. love the bathtub on the balcony. Nice public onsen bath house. Hotel's location is decent from Yuzawa's ski resorts. However, lack of restaruant option pass 7:00pm is a bit of tragic.

I don’t appreciate that the hotel does not provide public area / dinning area past 9pm…. It is not convenient if we try to get some work done. or just hope to have other area to relaxe besides staying in the room. Other then that, the hotel dinning option is quite limited, especially the restaurant options & their opening time is quite limited in the Town….

Lovely spacious rooms, helpful kind staff, Meals were well prepared and the afternoon tea on check in was a lovely touch. View from room and outdoor bath was stunning, so special. Staff very helpful when we needed extra help to contact local onsen, they were so kind and called ahead for us so we could keep our booking on very short notice.

Cheaper to book the meal deal online when booking than request at a later date - worth having. Not too much of a problem but worth knowing during our stay it wasn't recommended to drink water from the taps in our room, so you had to collect water from a dispenser down the hall, having a spare water bottle can save a few extra trips.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Checking-in and out was easy. The room is very spacious and clean. The open-air bath is fantastic. The view of the mountains and Tone River from the balcony is awesome. The soundproofing of the balcony door is great as I didn’t hear any sound of the river and trains when I was sleeping at night. Overall, it was a restful stay and I enjoyed my stay very much. I highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Minakami.

Beautiful hotel. We had the most relaxing experience. From the moment we walked into the hotel we felt welcomed by the wonderful staff. The hotel is very clean and peaceful. The beds are comfortable with the most comfortable pillows we have had in our entire Japan trip. I loved the private onsen in the balcony with the view of the mountains and the sound of the cicadas. I loved this place it has been my favorite hotel so far.

The room was extremely spacious, loved the private onsen and view from the room. The public bath is very good lots of baths (indoor and outdoor) and a sauna. The hotel is in a quiet location, but that isn’t a bother as the hotel is very relaxing and has good facilities. Often the had the public bath to yourself.

Far from the main station but they do offer a shuttle bus twice a day which was extremely useful if you don’t have a car.

The hotel was perfect in every way. The room was huge, the bed was so comfy, the bathroom was practical and pristine. We even had our own Onsen bath on the balcony. We had a stunning view over the river. The staff were so helpful and kind. I will come back here next time I’m in Japan. The main public onsen was incredible, clean, modern. Just a wonderful hotel.

It was perfect.

The property is modern, contemporary and clean. With a wonderfully calm atmosphere and great views of the near by hills and river. Each room has its own onsen on the balcony. The staff are friendly and so helpful. They even called ahead for us to see if some things we wanted to do were open. We can’t wait to come back!

The general vibe, calmness. Was a fab place to unwind and use as a base for canyoning. Great size rooms for Japan. Onsen on balcony was lovely! easy walk to some great places to eat :)

Bed was very hard. Was not able to amend breakfast at all, so a lot of food had to be wasted which was frustrating.

Spectacular view of the river, mountains, and fall foliage. Incredible food! I did not realize the half board would would be fine dining, I was very impressed. Great wine selection, the Chablis was very nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Convenient shuttle service. Excellent value!

There is no cold water tap by the open air tub, so you c a not adjust the temperature. But this was only a minor inconvenience. I still really enjoyed the open-air tub.
