The Hotel Iris is a family owned and operated hotel. It is in the National Park and has beautiful views. It feels more like a lodge than a hotel, very fitting in this park environment. The rooms were updated and handled our large group very well. The staff is remarkable. They take a real interest in you and treat you like family. The food at their restaurant from the included breakfast which was the best we had on our trip, to the delightful dinner we enjoyed were superb. They accommodated all of our needs. The first night we arrived late at night and needed dinner and the owner got in his car and drove us to a restaurant that was open and the meal was delightful. We needed to have documents printed out and the staff stayed up late to help us meet our needs. I can't say enough good things about the Hotel Iris. We look forward to returning one day!

Very friendly helpful and cheerful staff. Nice room with comfortable bed. Good breakfast. Stylish hotel with nice outdoor seating area at front. Well maintained gardens. Swimming pool. Very pleasant bar area. Plenty of covered parking at rear.. Everything about the place was saying well managed. Plenty of facilities in nearby town centre

A little bit far from town - 15 minutes or so on foot but a little more for me as still recovering from a recent broken leg. I managed nevertheless without it marring our stay which was excellent A1! Disappointed it was a bit too cold to try the pool as it looked fantastic

We stayed in two different rooms at this hotel - the first was a twin/double, which they moved the twin beds together at our request; the second was the superior double room. Both rooms were good and had a nice view, although the superior double was definitely the better of the two - nicer bed, had a bathtub, nicer bathroom. The breakfast was good, with fresh pastries and meats/cheeses, and fruits. We also ate dinner here a couple nights which included first and second courses and dessert, and you can get a very nice hot chocolate and biscuits from the bar in front of reception. Bonus if you like animals: There was a friendly dog and cute cat living outside the hotel (the staff advised they don’t belong to the hotel, but it was nice to see and play with them every morning).

The only complaint would be the fact the heating elements (in both rooms) didn't seem to work consistently. We're Australian, so we don't have these features and maybe don't know how to properly use them, but having turned the nozzle "on" it would fluctuate between hot and cold (without us having changed anything). Maybe this was controlled by the hotel overall, but in either situation it wasn't reliable to dry wet clothes/towels.

We stayed here out of ski season, so a lot of the surrounding shops and restaurants in Pescasseroli were closed, the hotel more than made up for this. The staff were the highlight, always helpful and accommodating. This was evident in the room upgrade we got, the late evening drinks they made us and the recommendations they were happy to give us on the local area. Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable, and the upgrade meant we got a balcony, which we took full advantage of for having our breakfast outside in the sun. The bar and restaurant wasnt to big, so it felt welcoming and comfortable. The hotel itself is a short walk (10 mins) into the centre of Pescasseroli so it's not only convenient but you also get to feel a little more secluded. Highly recommend this hotel. Not forgetting the homemade biscuits we had from the bar were delightful!

Nothing to dislike!

Friendly, helpful staff and hotel was very good value for money, well-placed in a beautiful region. We had an excellent evening meal and the house red wine was the best we tasted during our entire week’s holiday in Italy.

Excellent breakfast with plenty of options (local cheeses, home-made cakes) and good coffee. Very helpful staff. Great view out of our window to the Opi village. Covered parking guarded by cats.

A little further from the town centre.

Amazing hotel in an amazing small town. If you are traveling trough the mountains and want to see Gran Sasso, Campo Imperatore, Fonte Cereto , this hotel is a perfect place to stay and rest. It is clean and confortable. Nearby there are shops and good place to eat a pizza. Parking is also safe and convenient.
