Very helpful staff. We arrived soaking wet after cycling but they showed us the tumble drier! Beautiful old building.

Rooms were dark but it was a miserable day!

Old elements of the building, beautiful garden and breakfast room, large comfortable bedrooms and safe place for the bicycles, lovely pool also. The staff were lovely and very flexible.

The gentleman on reception was welcoming and friendly. He thoughtfully printed off a map with directions to where we could get dinner. Had some where safe to store our bikes over night. Good breakfast. Old building which retained some of its original features like the stairs to the bedrooms, however the bedrooms had recently been modernised.

The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really good.

Stephen was super happy helpful and even repaired my wife’s pannier on her cycling trip down to Hendaye on the velodysee.

Restaurant not operating, and although the creperie 10 minutes walk away was excellent, would have preferred a better restaurant.

Surrounded by salt marshes the hotel is situated in the very small village of Bouin. Our trip was last minute due to a rescheduled ferry, it’s not somewhere I’d tend to visit given we had come from Lacanau and prefer life and sea and surf etc. It’s a very sleepy village, one that’s not widely serviced by eateries or bars but the one attached to the hotel was lovely. Very French but they still managed to accommodate a very fussy child who has a meal repertoire of 2 things, a beyond burger which doesn’t exist in France or pasta pesto, which they made amazingly since there was no pasta on the menu, they also allowed our dog in. The hotel had a heated pool which can be covered or not depending on the weather. It’s not grand but it is quaint and rather pretty. You’ll struggle if no one in your party speaks French but the staff were very helpful - in French, they do try in English, I don’t expect everyone to speak my language of course but it’s useful to know. The breakfast consisted of pastries etc and very pleasant. I can’t see myself returning as there’s nothing for me to do there but for cyclists it would be a very good base given the flat landscape and proximity of land marks.

no evening meal available and limited food available in the village

Beautiful old house in a quiet location with a superb restaurant in the converted barn. We enjoyed our spotlessly clean garden room, which was well-appointed, and also liked having a very good breakfast in the conservatory at the back of the house.

The village itself is quiet and pleasant but not particularly special.
