Comfortable place to stay, quiet and cool from being set into the hillside. But still with some natural light and a pleasant outdoor patio as the room opens directly to the outside. Great to have basic kitchen facilities - including a sink and microwave, cutlery and plates, etc. Excellent location, close to the centre of town. We would stay here again.

The motel is located not far from the main strip, with a great view over the hills. A friendly welcome by the owner. Our 'underground' room was built into the side of the hill, and had a door into a hallway with natural light. The room had a double and single bed, en suite bathroom with a good shower, TV and enough room for our luggage. There was a kitchen close by with tea and coffee making facilities. The motel also has a table and chairs outside the office to sit and enjoy the warm weather.

The room was quite warm overnight, but there is a fan in the room. Our room had a small step from the beds to the bathroom, so needed to take care in the night.

Very clean, tidy, inviting, friendly,..... just.. everything nice about it!! This motel was perfect. The room has beds and a bathroom, TV, but they it was on at all, and a kitchen that is shared by all guests. It's just perfect. We thought it was an amazing town to visit so would totally recommend this Motel.

What didn't I like, you ask? Well! ... This motel was fabulous. No problem there. But.... the IGA Supermarket are thieves!! They are the only one in town. Please be aware. Please check your dockets. Watch their hands when weighing fruit or veges!!, they put their hands on the scales. I caught them out. Absolute disgrace. I will be taking it further for the record.

The room was super cosy and had a definite underground feel! I loved that there were shared kitchen facilities that were neat and with everything that was needed for those cooking their own meals or bringing back food.

Each room opens out into a central corridor which had chairs and small tables for communal use. However, the doors into the rooms are not at all soundproof so when people are milling around waiting for tours or their fellow travellers every word of their conversations can be heard in some of the rooms - so no midday naps!

Michael was a great host and took a lot of time to point out things on the map for me, writing down restaurants and explaining how to get to the breakaways etc. Had a few nice chats actually. Room was comfy and had everything I needed.

I'm quite tall and hit my head more than once on the bathroom doorframe, unfortunately. Soundproofing is an issue so you have to be very mindful about setting your TV's volume, especially at night, and hope for the other guests to be as considerate as you are.

Loved the cave feel, and our little kitchenette in Room 7. I kept being reminded of a Moroccan riad, it was so pretty and colorful.

Well the internet wasn't working, and I was waiting to stay at this hotel to get some work done (after driving around in a motorhome). The other thing was that as we were a little late, the office was closed and the key was left for us, but there were no information booklets or pamphlets left out for us. And without the internet, we were at a loss as to find out what where best to go for sunset, and other ideas. Next morning, we were offered all these wonderful brochures, which would have saved a lot of stress the night before, had they been left in our room, as a late arrival.

The room was really lovely, far exceeding our expectations for the price. There were so many nice touches not normally included in rooms in the price range we can afford. The room was spotlessly clean throughout & everything was very classy. This was the nicest place we have ever stayed and we will be coming back in the future. It was the last night of our holiday and we could not have hoped for a better end to a really good trip.

In our opinion, it would be unreasonable to dislike anything about this place

The staff were fantastic and really accommodating - as we were arriving late and with a young baby too. We were delighted to be moved into a larger suite, with plenty of room for our son to play during the stay as well. It is a really unique way to stay in the Australian outback, whilst still enjoying a little luxury on your trip. The hotel is in a great location to explore Coober Pedy and the surrounding area - with heaps of parking space as well. We'd highly recommend this - as the BEST place to stay when in Coober Pedy.

Nothing could have been better - we loved our stay!

This motel was just mindblowing! I could have googled in advance to see how an underground accommodation actually looks like but wanted to get surprised - and it worked! I was fascinated by the design, the big and comfortable bed, the shower, just about everything. Despite the walls I didn't even think about being literally inside a mound. The owners, even though we met just briefly, were super friendly and you can tell they enjoy living and working in Coober Pedy, despite the flies ;-)

Location was perfect and walking distance to town and restaurants. Staff were amazing 🙌🏼 Beds were fine and the underground location cool.

It was noisy for all the oldies in the other rooms when I was having sex with my partner at night, then in the early morning when they left, it was very noisy for us. Ventilation was not great.
