Ambience, service and value for money.

The reservation department of the hotel is worst. I was trying to book suryagarh for new years from 5th December and these guys were telling me that hotel is sold out and all the bookings are confirmed. Suddenly after 20th December the room was showing available on every third party sites. Is the hotel reservation trying to get the room rates higher by saying that rooms are not available and before 31st all the rooms were available at higher prices. I suggest please look into this matter. You can check with me email id ([email protected]) how many times I have tried getting the room reserved but the hotel reservation did not book my room and in the end I had to book room through booking.com and my booking was confirmed. Very bad reservation department of the hotel.

The hotel looked like a real fortress palace

We were assigned a room that was not at all what we expected. In the picture of the booking the suite was cosy and full of carpets. They assigned us a suite that was empty, cold and had a bedroom that was so small you could not open the suitcases. Only after my complains we were assigned a better room. When staff was making up rooms I saw that the room in the Booking picture existed, but was given to someone else. It should not happen. I agree to change a room, but not to lower the standard.

This is a modern hotel, but built in a very attractive heritage style. The staff add thoughtful touches in the rooms, like local sweets and wax-embossed welcome notes. Since we traveled in the off season, the hotel was excellent value considering its high quality. At the evening musical performance we expected the traditional performance we had heard a number of times in Rajasthan and elsewhere, but this one had unique instruments local to the desert landscape. I especially enjoyed morning yoga with the surrounding birdsong. Breakfast was fantastic with a flautist in the balcony.

The pool was disappointing because despite the temperature being in the 90s, it was too cold to use because it's covered and so gets no sun to heat it. The other slightly peculiar thing is the hotel location. It's neither in historic Jaisalmer nor overlooking the sand dunes. It's halfway in between (30 min drive to either) in the scrublands, but I suppose that's what the hotel was going for. Personally I'd recommend spending one night in a hotel in the Jaisalmer Fort so you get the genuine historic experience, and then come to this hotel for exploring the Thar Desert.

The building is beautiful, with large public spaces and well maintained grounds. The staff gave excellent personal service. Meals ( breakfast and dinner) were of a very high standard.

Our room ( a Fort twin) was on the small side, with the shower over the bath. The only pool is covered. There are no alternative eating options nearby ( not a big deal as the food is good here).

Beautiful property, very tasteful and very well maintained. Lots of spots to relax and enjoy the property. The food was excellent. But the staff made the stay. Excellent service all round. All the staff were super attentive and eager to make your experience special.

Loved everything. Only comment is that while the food was excellent, it was quite overpriced. Basic salads and appetizers at close to ₹2000 was a lot.

Well kept, beautifully landscaped courtyard and surroundings. Spa service was great, cultural program was good, food was delicious. Dinner and breakfast buffet had lots of varieties. Staff was very polite and attentive. Horseback riding and archery was fun experience for our adult boys.

Bathrooms had smell. Small stuff like box of tissues can add more comfort. It’s quite far from Jaisalmer town or Desert national park.

The whole Suryagarh experience was amazing. The staff and the hospitality was great. They really do well to put the needs and comfort of the guests first. The entire property and its facilities were so clean, it is hard to believe it is in the middle of a desert. Would really love to come back soon for the soothing and lovely ambience they have with all the luxuries!!

Location and Vibe are excellent. My entire group appreciated the daily cultural programme, courtyard musicians, horse & camel riding facilities, pool and billiards room. Staff are friendly and particularly helpful in locating lost items.

The resort would provide better value for money if they up their game on their food menu. I felt the breakfast menu particularly could be more extensive for a sought after resort of good standing. The pricing of the ala carte dining seemed high but not unexpected.

Suryagarh exceeded all our expectations. The property is beautiful, the staff are courteous, and the food and service are exceptional. Highly recommend booking one of their experiences- we did dinner on the dunes and felt like royalty. Couldn't have asked for a better way to spend our time in Jaisalmer.

Extremely courteous staff, the rooms were in pristine condition. The breakfast had a wide range of selection and the food was tasty. There are a lot of activities happening around the day and the evening event was splendid. Really picturesque property which is well maintained.

There could have been more in hotel restaurant options. An initial hotel tour by the staff would have been helpful than self exploring.
