The hosts are super friendly and helpful. The place is very cozy and decorated with attention to detail. Its located very well in the yogyakarta and you can walk to a lot of places by foot. We took a sunrise trip to Borobudur and were picked up at 4 AM. They even made us breakfast to go for our trip! If you want to enjoy Yogyakarta from a lovely, homely place, this is it.

The place has a great vibe. The staff and owners made me feel very welcomed and provided a lot of intel about places to see and restaurants to check out. I loved the look of the place… And with the heat, very appreciative of the pool. 😃 Also, as a solo female traveler, I felt very comfortable wandering around the neighborhood on my own.

Gorgeous, plant-filled oasis with a nice little pool. This place is super cute and I loved all of the decorations. It has kind of a hippie, local art, treehouse vibe. My room was upstairs with a balcony and outdoor shower near the reception area. Very comfortable with both a fan and AC. Staff were lovely and very helpful with purchasing ballet tickets and answering questions. We were up very early for the sunrise Borobudor tour and they packed us a to-go breakfast. Pool area is small and more suited for a quick dip as there are only a few chairs. I loved the neighborhood as well.

I didn’t have any issues but my friend was in a room by the pool and had to move due to AC issues and also had issues with noise from other guests due to the close proximity of the rooms (young travelers talking loudly and FaceTiming people at 3 AM). I would ask for the rooms with balcony near the front.

EVERYTHING! The place is gorgeous! The bed was very comfortable and the pool was a great reprieve from the heat or just a lovely place to unwind. The staff was incredibly helpful, attentive and their English was impeccable which isn’t always the case. I absolutely loved this stay. Oh, breakfast was great too! 📍 In the heart of Yogyakarta, a very good location and walking distance to restaurants. There are many prominent restaurants and cafes nearby. 🏡 We stayed in three different rooms. The rooms are pleasant, its spacious and its clean, with a beautiful touch of Javanese and some mix of Indonesian culture. 🔐 The place feel very secure and secluded, its quiet and a hidden gem in the midst of the local neighbourhood. Many foreigners stay there, which we met from Poland, US, UK, and locals. ⭐️ The staff are also very warm and friendly. We get to meet briefly the host owner, also the team of staff like Kak Lisa, Kak Nisa, and Mas Catra, who helped us throughout our stay — such as getting a car hire service, getting tickets and insights before visiting places. 🍛 It includes breakfast, the options are close to the culture of Indonesia such as “Gudeg”, “Nasi Uduk”, and of course, “mie goreng” — with a nice portion. The plus points is that they always provided extras like fruit salads, traditional desserts, banana bread, etc. through out our stay. 💳 Decently priced. We book through Booking.com and it’s very easy to adjust and modify. ⭐️ Overall, we had a very decent stay and definitely would love to come back again! Thank you Nextdoor Homestay team!

Overall we had a wonderful stay. But if we could pick any, we hoped there are some bathroom amenities provided, and the staff can advise kindly about the quiet time for the other guests who don't know, so they do not to disturb others.

The property is very beautiful, well-kept, and the pool makes it a little oasis to rest after your daily travels. The abundance of nature inside makes it feel like being far away from the city. The staff is super friendly and accomodates all your requests, including giving you fabulous trips on what to see around Yogyakarta. The breakfast was also included and not too bad!

The room had probably been prepared a while earlier (it was low season) so some Gekos left some memories of theirs on the sheets. Once spotted, the staff came in and changed them with fresh ones. Also, you can hear the parayers very loud even at night, but that's an issue that's affecting Java cities in general. Bring earplug and you'll be fine!

The garden, plants, pool are amazing! The atmosphere outside is really beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped us organize a motorbike for one day and we could stay one night longer in the Homestay. The location is good and the street is quiet, but in the night you still can hear the prayers from the mosque. The breakfast is good, simple, but there is something new everyday.

The walls are thin, we could basically hear the whole conversation of other guests in the room next to us. When we changed the room, it was better:) I personally didn’t like that there was no door which you could close between the sleeping room and the bathroom with the toilet.

Nextdoor Homestay is the perfect guesthouse for your Yogyakarta trip. The location is easy walking distance to so many points of interest and the decor of the guesthouse is adorable - special touches of plants and color everywhere. The breakfast was delicious and the most memorable part was the staff - Yuni and Lisa were so incredibly helpful in assisting us with booking all of our tours, transport, and recommending local restaurants. We loved Everything everything! Beautifully designed, peaceful, incredibly helpful staff. We stayed as a family, one day in the main accommodation and then we took the beautiful private villa. I cannot recommend this place more highly. My children loved the pools and we were able to relax in the middle of the city. Thank you Atty, Unee, Lisa, a truly beautiful stay. Really handy location. Atty could not have looked after us better. Also I had the best massage from Bella- highly recommend.

Some Ramadan noise but to be expected and the guest house helped with this- when to expect! I’d like to live there to be honest!

The hotel ground floor (where you have breakfast tables and check in) is very tastefully decorated and photo worthy. The breakfast is limited but very good. Above all the staff is excellent - she helped with directions/recommendations and the pro/cons with the plan we had made to the changes she suggested were very useful/pertinent. She arranged a car/driver at last minute and at the right price (sorry i forgot her name!). Very welcoming, kind, polite and make you feel at home. The pool is a good relief and it set up very nicely - again photo worthy. The staff made all the difference.

Our room was quite small and difficult to put things for 2 people. i think the main issue was with our bathroom had no door or curtain. and the shower is close to toilet so everything becomes wet - but this is common in small hotels in indonesia.
