The breakfast came either in western or Japanese which you can choose and they have some sides dishes to add on if you need more food. Overall was enjoyable and delicious! There is a family mart on the ground floor and many restaurants alongside nearby and is short walk from the station.

The only thing I don't understand is that as we were checking out, it seemed my family couldn't check out and had to wait for me (I was the one who booked the room). Other hotels would just accept the room keys and that's it! As we had a train to catch that very morning and the rest of the family had to wait for me, so it was not very convenient it a sense.

Location - perfect, just a short walk from Yamagata station and right next to a kombini and a restaurant district. I've heard that this was a business hotel but it felt luxurious, not sterile at all, and comfortable. Very helpful and pleasant staff as expected in a Japanese hotel. Big room, extremely comfortable king-sized bed, jumbo TV, beautiful and spacious bathroom - not the usual plastic box. Even a massage chair. Lots of free amenities at the reception. Check-out at 11:00 which was A+. Japanese breakfast worthy of a Japanese princess in a beautiful restaurant in the same building. It's better than the continental ("western") breakfast option. Also, the same restaurant also operates independently from the hotel and serves absolutely delicious sukiyaki for dinner. Highly recommend!

This shouldn't discourage anyone from booking this excellent hotel, but 3 laundry machines and 3 elevators are not enough for 300 people. It's possible to use the in-room TV to see if the laundry machines are being used, but just one guest forgetting to pick up their laundry creates chaos. That said, the staff will immediately come to pick it up for them if you need to use the laundry machine and are willing to go down to the reception and let them know.

Location was good. Short walk to Yamagata station. Lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. Yamagata Castle Park is very nice and a good spot for a nice walk.

Traffic signal noise. Also large advertising screen with a screaming cat. Maybe not a problem for every room. Bus ride to Kao onsen town a total waste of time and money. Ugly town and strong Sulphur smell from the waste spring water running in the ditches.

Very good location, rooms were a good size and the bathtub was great. Very modern hotel. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Lifts stop at the 3rd floor (where reception is) every time, even when no one is there waiting as it stops regardless of whether someone has pressed the button. As there are only 3 lifts, we frequently had to wait. Laundry facilities only had 3 machines, there’s was a wait for them. They also did not dry clothes well at all.

Great hotel. Perfect location, very close to Yamagata Station and with a fantastic view of the street below. The staff were very helpful. There's a convenience store in the building, which is helpful. The amenities on offer were good and the room was comfortable.

Nothing to dislike, really. The elevator would always stop on the floor where reception was before carrying on, which was a little annoying, but it wasn't a big problem by any means.

The food was great I have no complaints there. The bathroom was amazing. I wish I had that bathroom in my house. It gave me great ideas so when I build my own home I am going to find the same style and same fixtures. Super amazing.

The bed could have been softer and it really needs bigger plump pillows.The room was a decent size but the mattress was just to thin to be comfortable for my wife and I. We like a soft plump pillow but those were the same as the mattress. Don't misunderstand it was a great stay but for it to be five stars in my book those two items should be addressed.

Nice modern hotel with a compact room that has everything, including a oval shape bathtub with bath powder provided at the reception area. The water pressure is very good. Buffet breakfast was sumptous with choice of Japan and American set. Overall a pleasant stay. Will stay again.

parking is via an automated car park system. It has a limit to the size of the car that it can handled. Our car was a Mitsubishi Delica MPV. It was too big. We were guided to another multistorey car park about 50m away, with a fair daily rate. it was a slight inconvenient if it is raining and we have to walk across the street to pick up the car. Otherwise it is not a big deal. The daily parking rate was reasonable.

What i like the most here is the digital TV which can access NETFLIX. After the long day, i can watch the good movies which exclusively stream only in Japan. The cleanliness is also excellent, vey well trained housekeepers i admire. Amenities are ok, bath salts are nice, only shower cap that's not available. Laundry machine isn't quite right, clothes are a bit smelly and not dry.

I ran out of facial tissues for 2 days, it wasn't refilled.

A short (2-5 minutes) walk away from the train station, and even closer to a major bus terminal. The bathroom is fantastic. So much space. Great water pressure. All recent appliances (Toto brand, if I remember correctly). There is a good convenience store downstairs. The breakfast was way above average. Staff were as competent and polite as you'd expect from this chain. They speak English and are willing to help. Free drip coffee pouches! It's a wonder to me how other hotel chains can get away with not offering this basic service.

It would be great if they offered a bicycle rental service. Yamagata is a city with beautiful (ancient or modern) architecture scattered around that deserves exploring, and the sights become even more fascinating at sunset as the sunlight grazes the buildings. Plus, it is a flat city with decent cycling infrastructure.
