The location was perfect and it’s within walking distance and close to the bus terminal for all I wanted to do during my 4 night stay in Juneau. The ferry I was taking was scheduled to arrive at 9:30pm and I was concerned about a late check in but the staff were responsive about that and then when the ferry was delayed I was in touch with the hotel and I got an immediate response and I was grateful to be greeted in such a friendly manner even though it was after 10:30pm when I arrived.

My room had a great kitchen and I would have made more use of it if there had been a grocery store a closer walking distance. The hotel is historic which I found charming and I had no problem walking up two two flights of stairs.

The STAFF and MANAGEMENT were Exceptional(From Front Desk and Cleaning Staff to Bartender and Bldg Maintenance). The History of the Hotel is Astounding and the locale is Phenomenal. The insight of the area from the Bartender wAs Much Appreciated. The Rooms are rather Compact, But Comfortable.

This is a SHORT and SWEET Analysis. . The attached BAR noise after the 11:00 HOUR. For Older Occupant's (60s and Over), the convenience of the Bar is Nice BUT Rest is More needed especially after a Certain Hour of the Night. My Wife was taken back with the TILL 3:am Format on Friday and Saturday Nights. Other Than ALSO, NOT having Food Options at The Bar, OUR STAY was Exceptional, Otherwise.

The location is unbeatable

No bathroom in the room, loud noise from the bar and run down in general

I loved the unique decor of the hotel. It was restored by the current owners to the classic Victorian style it was originally built it. The location is perfect, right in the center of town, walking distance to practically everything in Juneau except the Airport and Mendenhall Glacier. The bar area is beautiful and the staff was very friendly at check-in.

I had several strange occurrences in my room on the third floor while I was staying here (heard my book bag unzipping in the middle of the night, things moved from where I placed them, etc) . I didn’t realize this before booking, but after some research I discovered this hotel has quite the reputation for being haunted, which I can say for certain is true. It didn’t bother me too much, but I wish I had known this beforehand, instead of having to find out firsthand 👻

Great location. It was as we expected in terms of being an old hotel, so plenty of character and a bit worn. . We waited a long time for someone to be available to check us in and it was late, after 11pm. When someone did come they seem to do it somewhat begrudgingly as they were trying to manage the bar in the hotel at the same time which was busy. We were not given the room we booked so I asked at the reception the next morning and showed the picture of the room I'd booked through booking.com and the lady at reception was happy for us to swop rooms for the remainder of our stay. From our experience I was left with two thoughts, there seems to be no connection between booking. com and the hotel which leaves the customer vulnerable. Secondly, the reception was rarely manned and there seems to be some arrangement with the bar staff to do check-ins out of hours and this doesn't seem to work for anyone.

As above

Gold rush era ambiance and turn of the century historical furnishings, but with modern & very comfortable beds. Great location, close to bars & coffee shops. Sweet little bar with live music.

This hotel used to cater to an older crowd during Folk Festival weekend, but now the clientele is mostly younger, and a lot louder. I had to get up at 4:30 am to ask some loud and rowdy Saturday night partyers who had gathered right outside my door to move elsewhere. Rooms are pretty tiny, but that's part of the historical feel. Pick somewhere else if you like a lot of room.

Great location. Classic old Alaskan building. Friendly staff and kept clean. Easy access in and out. Proximity to bar and music pro if you like the social scene and meeting interesting Alaskans. A con if you want to sleep before 1am in the morning. You won’t. But it’s a bar. So you should expect live music. Courtesy of the facility.

I loved it. But needed sleep after 2 nights .

It was nice to stay in historic building in the middle of most of the attractions. Very walkable.

I would have preferred there be a screen on my window. A small fan in the room would also be nice. The stairs to the 3rd floor were a little challenging for us older folks, but we made it!

0230awakened by many loud voices and racing motors. But otherwise fine. Shower was nice. Walked to Sacred Ground Cafe that opened at 0800.

Walking up 2 flights of stairs was work, but I expected this. I did not have to carry up my suitcase as it did not yet arrive with me. Had what I needed in back pack.

Great location! We could walk to most everything we wanted to see. Staff was able to resolve a computer glitch that ended up with 3 times the charges on our bank account. They have a coin op laundry's available.

Like others have mentioned, no elevator. Not all rooms have bathroom.
