The host was most attentive to any question and request I had. On my arrival I was asked what breakfast I preferred and I was offered a daily package of saffron rice mixed with all kinds of ingredients (chicken shreds, tofu, boiled egg, fiber, small vegetables, ...) as well as a whole plate with freshly cut fruits (water melon, banana, papaya, ..). For me this was perfect. I would prefer this anytime over a continental breakfast with bread as a basis. Although the bathroom is not aesthetically pleasing, the toilet, shower and sink all work well. Most importantly there is stable, hot water. The air-conditioning works well and keeps the room at a comfortable temperature. The beach, restaurants, a small supermarket, is all in a 2 to 10-minute walkable distance.

I had some trouble with tiny ants, but the host was most kind and helped me swiftly to get rid of them. (I haven't encountered a place in Bali that did not have ants. It's something you need to accept, prepare for, and deal with.) The hustle and bustle at the guesthouse starts early (around 6-6:30) in the morning with guests going on and about. The glass wall with the entrance door of the room is hardly able to keep the sound out. Then again you may want to benefit from those early hours to make most of the coolest hours of the day. It also helped me to get rid of my jetlag in a most efficient way.

Stayed another 2 days at Josh guest house while in Singaraja. Staff very friendly and helpful. Big room with very comfortable bed and pillows. Clean sheets and big bath towels. Bathroom good size with hot water. Strong wifi and good aircon. Mini fridge in room which was great. Quiet area. Designated parking across from guest house. Will stay again when visiting.

Waiting for our visa extention (immigration 20 minutes away walking) we stayed there five nights and it was a very good choice. It is a homestay with just a few rooms, so it is quiet and you can have privacy. Comfy and spacious room with quite big bathroom area also made us happy. Breakfast included in the price put us into good mood for the rest of the day (especially wonderful omlettes). There is a small pool to cool you down and 10 minutes away a seafront walking trail with lots of warungs, no swimming in the sea though. We owe a lot to very kind hosts who really went to extremes to satisfy our needs and that was watching Qatar Football on tv. Singaraja is a surprisingly interesting town, but you have to want to discover it.

What we did not like was the motocycle parking area just outside the rooms. Noisy.

Josh Guest House is a gem of simplicity and comfort in Bali. The interiors are straightforward yet inviting, with a bright ambiance that instantly makes you feel at home. The friendly and responsive staff add to the welcoming atmosphere, always ready to assist with a warm smile.

While the pool is smaller and breakfast is modest, these minor aspects are quickly overshadowed by the overall excellent value for money. The guest house is conveniently located near Lavina, a popular spot for enchanting dolphin watching tours, adding to its appeal.

We enjoyed the stay very much. The place was quiet and had a small pool where one could chill in the biggest heat. Beach, ATM and restaurants in walking distance. The room was clean with goodworking AC, comfy beds and clean bathroom. Breakfast was nasi goreng or eggs on toast,not so variable but sufficient. The staff was helpful, although there were some struggles due to language barrier, but nohing major. They organized motorbike rent for us which was very nice.

Nice place to stay for our short vacation. They provide a spacious room, Wi-Fi, soap and shampoo, towels, and complimentary Indonesian breakfast (nasi Kuning/Jinggo/Goreng). The room is also clean and tidy. They also provide spacious parking area.

The location is a bit tricky, as it is in a housing area.
