1000 Dream bungalows is (probably) one of the best places to stay in the Lovina beach area. I have stayed there for 15 days and every day was a good day. You simply cannot beat the views, especially the sunsets. The location is very convenient. Across from an immigration office, short walk to various shops and restaurants and within the service area of Grab, so getting stuff delivered or getting transport is very easy. Although there is no real ‘beach’ there is a coastal path you can use to get some exercise while watching the ocean. The rooms are great. It’s basic, yes, but high quality basic. Beds are comfy. Bathroom is amazing. Airco is powerful. I slept very well here. No TV but you won’t miss that at all. Breakfast is excellent albeit maybe a bit limited if you stay longer. I didn’t mind the eggs Benedict though. Yum. Pool is good for a dive and cool off, but it’s not a lap pool. It is about 8x3 meters, i would say. Perfect for hanging on the edge, having a cocktail and watching the ocean. The garden is your front yard. Plenty of seating. Comfy loungers. Dinner is also very good. Especially if you get to know the owners so you can talk about what you like and if you might want to have a special dinner. They are very easy to talk to and will try and make everything work for you. Their Indonesian dishes (like the Nasi Campur) are to die for. Cannot recommend enough. Also see my restaurant review. Prices are moderate for Lovina but perfect for the setting. Staff is wonderful. They will become your family in a way. It’s like staying with friends, but friends who know how to operate a small boutique hotel. Highly recommended

The only downsides are that the WiFi is not really fast or super reliable, but I’m pretty sure they will look into that sooner rather than later. What I didn’t like was an unannounced 2.5% surcharge for paying with a credit card. Just tell people in advance

Amazing stay! The owners/staff, the location (best sunsets), the cottage/property, the food/drinks exceeded my expectations. If Lovina is not on your list of places to go while visiting Bali, it should be included and a stay at 1000 Dream Bungalows. So convenient to amazing day trips - the morning dolphin/sunrise/snorkeling was an experience not to be forgotten, beautiful waterfalls, ancient bamboo villages and mingling with the locals was an experience I'll never forget. 1000 Dream Bungalows is like staying in a little piece of paradise! Don't miss out!

The owner and all the staff were very friendly, helpfull and attentive. The place is peacefull and relaxed - a small botanical garden very good looked after. The room was very clean with everything you need, 2 bottels of water and fresh towels every day. The beach directly in front of the cottages and the pool was clean and the sea clear with swimming turtels. I recommend this place very much.

No negative experience

The location was brilliant with the beach on our door step and surrounded by gardens. The staff and owner were so caring and friendly. We were a little out of town but this was hardly a problem as the owner was happy to drop us into town and pick us up. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. We went snorkling from the boat with our six year old grand daughter which was so much fun and others in our group went diving. It was lovely and quiet and yet plenty to do if we wanted to.

It was a little further from town than we had thought but we enjoyed this after a while as their were a couple of nearby warungs that were fun to eat at. The meals at the resort were a little more expensive than we had expected but mostly we ate out. The beds, like a lot of beds in Bali, were a little hard but not the hardest I had come across in Bali,

A superb choice of holiday accommodation. We travelled 3 weeks through Bali and my partner and I agree this was our favourite. It was hard to leave the wonderful team there. We are big travel lovers and this stands out as one of our favourite experiences. Owner Dian and her husband, her grandfather (healer and masseuse), and her gorgeous kids were highlights and made us feel so welcome. We felt like family. My partner enjoyed bonding with Dian's husband. Dian doubled as a driver for us and her son came too for a day trip to the Holy Water Springs. The food was delicious and the location was awesome. We sat at the little table on the sea's edge when we could and it was magic. Our room was spotless and our bathroom (partial roof cover) was great with a very big shower. The pool was clean and refreshing. There is no doubt that Dian and the family care very much for their visitors. They set a gold standard, along with the rest of their staff.

The cocktails were a bit pricier than other places we went to in Bali, but probably kept us from over-indulging!

Especially the super friendly and cooperative staff with Dian, Agus, Yuni, Eka and Firda (and of course (gardners, cleaning, coconut cutters :) etc.) made our vacation perfect. The hotel was small, intimate with very helpful and welcoming staff. It was very peaceful with beautiful gardens full of birds and butterflies. Special thank you to the hotel owner, Argus, and his wife for taking us out and showing us places only a local could find.

The property is an oasis with very little in the surrounding area. So it is not the place to stay if you want a busy nightlife or shops/ restaurants on your doorstep. Also prepare yourself for a 3 1/2 hour transfer from the airport through some very busy streets as you leave the City.

Private bungalow with outdoor bathroom, in beautiful garden setting. Only 8 bungalows so had a very intimate feel. Pool was very nice along with the Oceanside restaurant setting. Food was some of best we have had in Bali. Lovely owners and fantastic staff.

Bathroom towels could be updated so they are softer - no big deal though.

Loved this place. Right on the beach with amazing sunsets and not at all windy - could sit out with a cocktail and watch the sun go down. The beach was a local hangout in the evening and local families came and swam so was a nice mix of local and resort. Only 8 villas and we had 3 of them with a family of 5! They were great in securing adjoining rooms for us. Very clean, nice outdoor bathrooms and terraces with view of sea, pool and gardens. Nice how the rooms circled the pool but did not feel intrusive and felt private. Great breakfast included. Staff were lovely and helpful and friendly, including owner who made a real effort to make sure everyone had what they needed. Organised drivers for us for two days - go to Aling Aling and the waterfall jumps/slides, and Sekempul - both amazing. A couple good warungs close by for dinner if you want a break from resort.

Wasn't an issue for us but don't expect much in the close vicinity - we just booked Grabs for short trips into Lovina so not a big issue and resort location and quality was more important to us than being closer to the centre.
