Great hotel with easy parking, 10 minutes walk from the centre of San Pedro. We stayed in the Refugio part of the hotel and our room was modern and spacious with a small terrace. Loved sitting here with a drink after a long day out. Restaurant was very reasonably-priced and we ate there most evenings. Staff all helpful and friendly and gave good recommendations for the town. Nice pool and bar, especially the complimentary sparkling wine! Despite the rain, loved our stay here and would highly recommend.

Just a suggestion: the restaurant area felt a little sterile, given its size and proximity the reception area. A few pictures on the wall would have make a big difference, but the food and service were great.

I can’t express enough how our stay at La Casa de Don Tomás was simply wonderful. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the amazing staff, who took the time to explain how everything at the hotel works. We arrived late, around 9 p.m., just as dinner service was ending. Even so, we were kindly invited to order salads and soups—exactly what we needed after a long flight. The hotel is exceptionally well-prepared to accommodate guests and support all scheduled activities. There’s a convenient water fountain outside for refilling bottles, and if you have an early morning excursion, the hotel can prepare a takeaway bag with a sandwich, juice, and a cookie to bring with you. The food at the hotel is outstanding. It truly offers one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. My only wish is that breakfast service started just half an hour earlier so we could fully enjoy it before heading out on the tours. We did experience one minor issue, although it wasn’t the hotel’s fault. As we were checking out, another large group was doing the same, and they put their luggage near ours. Their driver mistakenly took all of our bags without notifying anyone. We only realized this about 10 minutes later. When our transfer arrived, we were in a panic—we had no idea where our bags had gone. Thankfully, the hotel’s reception team responded immediately. They started making calls to identify the company responsible for the other group and quickly got in touch with a partner at the airport. Thanks to their proactive efforts, our luggage was found and safely recovered. We 100% recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to San Pedro de Atacama. I believe this is one of the best hotels in the area and I’m sure you will have a great time under their care.

Loved this place - stayed in both the ‘superior’ and the annex ‘el refugio’. The annex was more luxurious and spacious. You can walk into town but the food here is delicious, wide ranging breakfast and simple accomplished dinner menu. Free On tap tea and coffee is a really useful bonus.

Loved it all - especially the view of the volcano from our window. The outside pool looked pretty but too cold to Use in June!

Room was a good size, nice bathroom. Great breakfast selection which was quickly refreshed as things were used up. Front desk staff were very helpful. Water refill point by reception was brilliant. Toilets were exceptionally clean in the main building. Restaurant was nice in the evening, a fairly limited menu but the food was tasty and it saved going into the main town each night. Less than a ten minute walk to the high street. Laundry service was efficient and good value for money (apparently free if we had stayed one more night!)

Lack of AC meant the rooms really are very warm in the evening, even when the temperature outside plummets. Pool area was a bit tired, glasses were left from other guests for many hours. Could probably avoid giving people plastic bottles entirely and just offer them at reception when people check in if they really need them.

The El Refugio part of Casa de Don Tomas is modern and very comfortable. It has tons of creature comfort that are great at the end of a hard drive and walk through Atacama. Large rooms for 2 adults and adequate wardrobe space. The bathrooms are unique and lack nothing. The rooms have a sit out looking outwards into open fields. Fantastic space to sit, loosen up, catch-up on the day, listen to birds, see the distant mountains. The restaurant was great for breakfast, evening drinks (very good pisco sours) and dinner. Staff is friendly and responsive. There is a water bottle filling station next to the reception that should become the norm for all hotels. The pool is very inviting.

Loved this hotel, the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was beautiful, we spent a day enjoying the pool which was well needed. The food in the restaurant was really good and well priced, we ate there all three nights. It just felt like a super relaxing calm place so we were sad to leave!

Just a couple of tiny things, on the last morning we ordered breakfast boxes due to an early departure and made the staff aware we were vegetarian. Unfortunately our sandwiches had meat in them and the kitchen was closed so we had to go without. There wasn't any Aircon but I think that is due to the area. These are only very small things that wouldn't in any way prevent us from coming back to this stunning hotel.

Everything was perfect, from the staff to the room and facilites! Beds are very comfortable and the shower is amazing. Breakfast is super complete and delicious. The hotel provides towels so we can get them to the tours with us and also provides water to refill water bottles and that’s a difference from others.

The room could have air conditioners because it gets too hot during the day and it takes time for the heat to fade away. Also, the distance from the city centre is a bit big and it can be a problem when you’re too tired from some tours, for example.

A lovely retreat, less than 5min walk to Caracoles, but enough removed from town that you feel immersed in nature. My favourite thing is they seem to really think about blending in and preserving nature, I loved the sustainable features. The lovely seating area just outside was perfect to chill out after returning from day trips. Staff are incredibly kind and always ready to help - I had an issue with a card retained by an ATM and they were more than happy to help me sort it out, for which I was very grateful. Comfortable rooms, excellent service, smiley staff that seem to be valued and well-treated by management, will definitely recommend to friends and family going to San Pedro.

The water in the pool is very cold, which was fine considering it’s winter and the nights are very cold, but I wonder if solar-powered heating just to break the ice would go down well? :)

The services at the hotel were excellent. Staff was extremely helpful and very welcoming. The restaurant is lovely with the highest quality food that we found and very reasonable. Bravo to the Chef - nicely presented and very nicely flavoured selection. And should you have any food allergies or preferences they will accommodate with a smile. The shaded area under the trees near the small pool is super relaxing.

Not so much about not liking - but rooms could be slightly more modern - there is a new section which is very beautiful and has big windows views on the garden. Ours had no view - but for the time you spend in yr room it was fine. PS this is for relaxing - no TVs but excellent WIFI

The location is great, a short walk from the main street which allows you to sleep well. The staff were fantastic and always helpful Having the laundry included in our stay, as we spent 5 night was handy and saved us time as we arrive tired from tours' hence, we really appreciate it The lemonade with mint was delicious and good food at the restaurant

The rooms did not have airconditioning. We know it is rare around San Pedro, but as we stayed there during summer, maybe because of the materials used to build the hotel, it was extremely hot inside our room, so we could not sleep well. Outside, the temperature was quite pleasant. The hotel provided a fan, but it was not enough. We ended up moving to a different room, that did not have a big wall in front of it and it was better. We would return to the hotel if they put aircon in the rooms.
