The staff was fabulous! The location was beautiful! We had an issue with losing all of our money and travel documents (including copies of credit cards and passports) as we mistakenly left it on a Sea Bus in Mykonos. Connie made countless phone calls and got the manager of the property involved in order to retrieve them. It was such a relief to us that they took so much concern in our problem and were able to contact the right people to get it sent to the hotel, all the while they sent us on our way to enjoy our excursions and sightseeing. The breakfasts were amazing - I have never had such yummy food at breakfast. Again I could never be more grateful for what they did to help us. This is the best place to stay on Naxos.

We were treated extremely well by the staff; true Greek hospitality. From free transportation from/to port upon arrival and departure to the helpfulness of the staff at reception to the hospitality of the staff at the bar/restaurant, all was excellent. We spent time on our balcony every eventing looking at the view of the sea and Portara- truly wonderful. We stayed here four nights and just loved it.

The room and bathroom were pretty tight quarters. The view and balcony made up for it (Room 47 or 48) and I would request this room again. Some people might by more bothered by the small size.

The breakfast was rich in choices, with a wide variety of pies and sweets freshly prepared by the in-house chef. The view from the hotel is excellent. Although the hotel is not in the town center, it is close enough. The staff were outstanding—polite, attentive, and professional. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel provides complimentary beach towels and sun umbrellas for visits to beaches without facilities. Overall, the experience was well above expectations, and 100% recommended.

Almost nothing I didn't like. Perhaps if the hotel put a label of the available breakfast choices will assist in choosing. :-) In addition the parking area is marginally adequate: In 1 out of 6 nights I needed to park the car in 5 minutes distance.

The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was polite, willing to help and to give advises. The view was great - opposite to Portara Naxos Chora (the center of the island) was less than 10 minutes walk The hotel offers: - free transportation from the airport / port - the management communicated with us through booking in advance - welcome drink as well as a snack in the check in - a delicious breakfast with different Greek pies every day as well as traditional cheese and other sweets - clean towels for the swimming pool or the beach and used umbrellas to take with you in the beach - the coffee machine in the lobby is available to be used for free until 17:00 every day - every day, they offer a plate with a different snack in the room - parking space for 8-9 cars right next to the hotel and there is another parking 2 minutes away from the hotel

Of the many hotels/suites we stayed in during our trip to Italy and Greece, the Hotel Grotta ranks as number one. Honestly, we cannot find fault in any aspect of this property. Great staff; splendid views; quiet, comfortable room; private use of the hotel spa (requires booking); amazing breakfast; and private shuttle to the airport and/or ferry terminal-- all creating a true, family atmosphere. Konstantina, Sophia and Dimitri deserve special praise. They cannot do enough to make your stay special!

Everything was perfect! The room was spotless and comfortable and super quiet on an evening throughout the night. Perfect location to watch the sunset there was no better place to see it on the island, and a short walk into town. The breakfast was great and staff couldn’t do enough for you, including booking restaurants and free port transfers. Try the homemade white wine!

The only downside if have to give one was we were in a room behind reception next to the restaurant, so could be quite loud from early on in the morning when setting up for breakfast and guests make their way to breakfast, but I imagine if you were on a higher floor that wouldn’t be an issue. Would still return in a heartbeat, wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Naxos!

A delight! The staff could not be more friendly and hospitable. Room: Our room was clean, the bathroom modern, and the condition was like new. Renovated about 4 years ago. The hotel had crews working on keeping it in great shape while we were there. Highlights: The views, service and breakfast were highlights. Location: We loved the location. NOT in the central touristy port area, but better. A less than ten-minute walk away with fabulous views and much quieter. So, we had access to the great restaurants and shopping, and a room in a quieter location. Could not have asked for a better stay. Services: The women who managed the front desk were knowledgeable, charming, patient, and helpful. Sophia (I think) helped program a day's worth of sightseeing into Google Maps. Konstantina helped answer so many questions and arrangements--like arranging a car rental (for about the same price as the folks in town) with delivery to and return at the hotel. Our deal included transfers. Ours were dependable and timely. Lots of great vibes and a relaxing venue. Genuine and authentic Greek hospitality. Unbelievable value!!!!! Note: We booked late, so our room did not have a view, but if you can, get a room with a view. Have a great trip!

The view every morning while enjoying the delicious breakfast provided was very relaxing and a great way to plan out our day. The staff was very efficient and friendly. Very pleasant personalities. The shuttle from the ferry port was a nice touch. The entire property was spotless and it really felt clean and modern. The rooftop was such a nice way to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun set behind Apollo’s Temple.

The rooms are very clean and nicely appointed but on the smaller side. No real drawers to unpack into but definitely not a deal breaker for us.

We stayed the last week of March and when you travel a lot and experience many hotels you just know when the service and hotel quality is beyond what is expected for the price. This is the case for this hotel. I analyzed why was I impressed with this hotel? I believe because of two primary reasons, first the service went beyond the check-in experience. And second because the hotel upkeep, maintenance, cleanliness and the overall updated room condition from the floors, walls, fixtures and furnishings were excellent. But if you have difficulty walking or young children, know that the hotel is a about 1000 meters to the port Main Street but can be shortened to about 700 meters by taking a rocky path with about 150 meters of that distance being a short but inclined pathway. My only issue was when using the upper shower head some splashing would make it out onto the bathroom floor, but this has been common in many of the hotel showers that do not have complete enclosure and the shower floor towel helps to dry it out. Don’t expect a nice sandy beach, that’s a further walk from this area. Those responsible for the hotel have done a marvelous job keeping it updated and having the right staff, congratulations! The hotel staff were great, especially Connie and your housekeeping ladies, so hopefully you take good care of them. Connie was great at receiving us and throughout our stay. The hotel provided a transfer from/to the ferry port which was unexpected, we arrived early and expected to leave our luggage until check-in but fortunately our room was ready and they were able to accommodate an earlier check-in along with a welcome drink and breakfast every morning. The hotel had a beautiful view from the eating area and the rooftop. I noticed some rooms have sea views. For us an older couple, this hotel was perfect and the nightly rate exceeded our expectations which makes a good formula for a great hotel experience. Truly one of our top hotel stays of our trip.

Everything. The rooms were quiet and clean, central location within walking distance to port. The most stunning views of the sunset and temple of Apollo. The staff here were incredible and went to great lengths to genuinely make guests feel at home. The spa area was so peaceful especially since guests are asked to sign up for times so they have the area to themselves. Can’t forget “Mama’s breakfast” which was impressive and always delicious. Daily treats are also brought to your room. I didn’t want to leave.
