We had a room in the annex over the road from the hotel which was large and exceptionally clean. The bed was really comfortable and the shower had great pressure which we love!! We ate in the restaurant and we are so glad we did, the food was exceptional and the service equally so. We can't recommend it highly enough. Eating here is an absolute must if visiting Mende!

We required parking but there were no places available by the time we arrived. It wasn't an issue in our case as we parked in the car park opposite which is free for the first hour and between 6.00pm and 9.00am. As I say it didn't affect us but may do if planning a longer stay.

The Hotel de France in Mende was the most luxurious accommodation in which we stayed during our trip around France and we thoroughly enjoyed spoiling ourselves here. The staff welcomed us politely and helpfully advised us where to park in the secure space below the Hotel. We decided to book a table for dinner in the Hotel's restaurant and we weren't disappointed. We were served by a delightful young waiter who spoke good English and had a rather cheeky but amusing sense of humour. He helped us to choose the best wine to match our meal and it was perfect. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the amuse bouche served by a lovely young waitress who had only just started working at the Hotel that day! Our breakfast the next morning in the same light, spacious dining area was equally good and we were set up and prepared for the next leg of our journey.

The Hotel is situated on a fairly busy road. Although we weren't kept awake during the night, the traffic started flowing very early morning.

Very smart French style hotel run and managed in a 'traditional' manner. Clean, tidy and smart throughout from the car park to the bedrooms. Petit dejunier was particularly well presented in the light and airy dining room.

The dinner menu was set for full evening dining and whilst looking like a culinary offering not to be missed dinner was going to be around Euro 100 each if wine was being taken.

A reminder of wonderful French hotels as they used to be. The staff were delightful and knowledgeable, the patron was very welcoming, keen to show us to our huge bedroom with its separate bathroom and wonderfully comfortable bed. Supper, served at white table clothed tables on the terrace in amongst potted olive trees was exactly as I had hoped. Mende itself was fascinating. I hope we go again.

The room was exceptionally specious and well laid out the bed was comfortable the bathroom was just wow 🤩! We stayed in the building across the street from the main hotel with a lovely view. There was a car park at the back which was perfect as we arrived in our car. We also had dinner one night at the hotel which was absolutely fantastic!! I would definitely stay there again

Everything about this hotel was really great. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms spacious and well stocked with toiletries. Check in was very good with extremely helpful staff. Big plus point for us was the hotel parking and the secure storage for our bikes. But the biggest plus point was the food. Dinner was the best we had eaten in our 21 day trip through France. Service was excellent.

This was our second visit to this hotel and we enjoyed it even more. The hotel is very convenient for the town, offering parking (7€ at the time of our stay). The room was very spacious and clean and had a very comfy bed. The Wifi was excellent. All the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The restaurant was fabulous and the meal was delicious. Not sure my régime really needed all the extras that came with each course and coffee! I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying again very soon, I hope.

Room was superb like a 5 star hotel Large double bed bath shower x2! Elegant floor and wardrobes excellent AC as it was 38 heatwave and we really needed it at night

Breakfast was fair but not as good as evening meals -amuse bouches superb Breakfast just average

Stayed here several times and we look forward to coming again. it’s top quality in a very understated way. Attractive restaurant with excellent food.

We had issues with restaurant service in the past. Seems to be staff related. On this occasion the only 2 visible staff members couldn’t cope with breakfast. We arrived down at 9am and it seemed as if breakfast was finished, with not a single table cleared and empty bread baskets and fruit bowls. We understand that there had been a group taking breakfast early but regular clients should be accommodated.

The hotel is at the more upmarket end of the hotels in which we've stayed during our holiday. The room was large with a second twin room and bathroom in a mezzanine. It was nicely situated in the town close to lots of restaurants.

The hotel restaurant looked good and certainly served an excellent breakfast but the menu wasn't really suited to our diet and it was very expensive so we chose not to eat there. There were choices in town so that was fine. Otherwise, it was very good.
