It was a beautiful location! The breakfast was wonderful. Don’t miss climbing the tower and checking out the dungeon.

We paid for half board for three people (dinner and breakfast). It was a different price than just two people on Booking. When we checked out the staff insisted the dinner for the third person was not paid for- and the dinner was an abysmal, very over priced, low protein vegetarian meal. I reached out to Booking and they did not respond. It almost ruined the stay. Don’t bother paying in advance for dinner- it’s the same exact price and if you wait and pay there you can pick exactly what you want. Fortunately, this was the start of our trip and the only extra charge we experienced with our Booking hotels.

The castle is so unbelievably fantastic with surroundings like taken straight out of a fairy tale. Very helpful and friendly staff. The restaurant is definitely worth a visit, we had a fantastic three course menu with local wines. The breakfast was delicious with a huge selection Good parking conditions in the adjacent square

As it is an old medieval castle, you must be prepared that there are quite a few stairs. If you have difficulty walking, this is probably not a good choice. Fortunately, we had no problem and will definitely come back and visit this wonderful place

Burg Trendelburg is a breathtakingly stunning place. What a superb hotel. Staffed by enthusiastic, polite, attentive staff, it is a historic gem abundantly furnished with antiques including suits of armour, etc, befitting of a castle. I won't spoil the surprises by telling you of all the things you can discover at Burg Trendelburg, but, believe me, it is worth staying there. Our room was one of the most beautiful we have ever stayed in. We booked the dinner, bed & breakfast rate which was good value, too. We will definitely return, and probably take friends there so they can enjoy it too.

Amazing location and facility. Service was top-notch and the atmosphere was truly ‘fairytale castle style’. The dinner menu was super and the breakfast buffet was significant above average. At arrival we had drinks at the terrasse with an unparalleled view. We brought a small dog along and there was zero problems in doing so.

Parking was fairly limited at arrival but the staff elegantly arranged something for us.

I wanted to stay in a historic castle the property is very old , we had diner onsite is was very nice , as we were the only guests we had a beautifuly set out breakfast ,amazing old castle with Rapunzels Tower atteched

I asked when we arrived if we had good rooms the girl said yes of course well our room was a shoebox , we booked 2 rooms and were the only guests I thought they might of made a better effort as we also went to dinner.

Excellent food & service, clean rooms, friendly people. Met interesting guests. Interesting castle features to see. Good exercise by climbing stairs Hotel provides robes but we did not need them. Also a romantic surprise. upon arrival.

Hard walk with luggage up hill from bus stop to castle. Hotel's wi-fi Internet reception limited to entrance hall and a small nearby area of dining room.

A beautiful building with great views. Wonderful breakfast on the terrace. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Original booked double room was very small with 1 tiny window and at the top of 3 flights of stairs - paid a lot to upgrade to larger room. Lovely old interior to building but very hot without aircon.

We loved our stay! The staff was so warm, welcoming, and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable. We would recommend for other travelers coming via public transportation to download the NVV (nvv.de/en) app or use the website to find available bus routes to take once arriving by train a few towns over. The hotel is off the beaten path (which is part of the charm of it and makes it so special!). Staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay and were able to figure out transportation to and from the location.

Only one night in this fabulous old castle. It was a lovely place to stay. We ate on the terrace due to the hot weather. It was just perfect sitting in the sunshine. We had a lovely meal which was a fixed 3 course. Very enjoyable. Loved the whole experience.

Amazing location, with an amazing history and stuffed full of artefacts. Our bedroom was in one of the towers. We also explored the Rapunzel’s tower and ventured into the cellars.

The curtains didn’t quite cover the windows and so let in the morning sunlight.
