It was clean, and, the room was comfortable. This was our first stop on our vacation, and it was cute! We arrived at night, and so we couldn’t see anything. When the sun came up, we had a west-facing room, so when we opened the door, the view was a stunning Mountain View.

The parking. I realize that parking is First Come, First served, but for people traveling, it’s difficult without many lights in the parking lot to see any signs about “additional parking in rear,” or even finding a regular spot. We were driving a 2023 rental Chevy Tahoe , not our daily driver, but not too much bigger than our daily driver. It was very difficult to park because of the angles of some of the spots. In the morning, we saw the sign “Additional Parking in Rear”. We were not told that that was an option, so it would’ve been nice to know ahead of time.

What can you say about a Lone Pine Landmark standing on Main Street (hwy 395) since 1923. Stay where all your cowboy heroes stayed: John Wayne, Hop-a-long Cassidy and others. Just outside your door the mighty Sierra Nevada mountains with Mount Whitney over 14,000 ft as your focal point. Just breath taking! Staff is knowledgeable, patient and kind. Tiana at the front desk always gives us new ideas and places to go when we drop in. She finds out if the snow gates are open to the mountains and are drivable.

It can get crowded, but fun!

Fantastic location! Right on the main street, in front of and next to great places to eat, whether it's dinner, breakfast or a snack, the motel doesn't have breakfast, but you turn the corner and there's the Alabama Hills Café with several great breakfast options. The bathroom even has a very modern hygienic shower, the first time I've seen that in countless trips to the USA!!! The room isn't big, but it's cozy, comfortable and clean. A wonderful shower that provides a fantastic bath! I wanted to spend the rest of my trip in Lone Pine just to stay at this motel!!! Honestly, it's a better option than any chain hotel in this city! You'll be happy!

Honestly? Nothing! Even they don’t offer breakfast was not a problem at all, you have great options nearby. Easy check in and out.

Charming old historic main Hotel lobby with a great vibe providing traveler camaraderie…very attractive and welcoming…with nice friendly staff…and good coffee first thing in the morning…we stay in the Dow Motel extended accommodations adjacent and always very comfortable…AC works great. So convenient to park near or in front of the room…Thank you for being there Dow! And keeping a landmark in such good shape for native Californians like us to harken back on our childhood road trips and escape the hustle bustle of Los Angeles.

….one dog in the room next door…had periods of whining and whimpering which woke us up at 3:30 a.m. and after 1/2 and hour it stopped before we would have called the desk…the third morning we were there…that was the only annoying thing that occurred…it was as if the dog’s owner was not in the room with the dog, because who could stand to have that going on…anyway that’s our only gripe. Cheers!

Everything. Check in was fast and efficient. The place was beautifully decorated. A lot of love and care went into creating a warm and welcoming ambiance for the optimum guest experience and they succeeded!! You have everything you'll need for a pleasant stay. The beds and linens are high quality and comfortable; the Villa is convenient and in a perfect location, right off the 395, but surprisingly, you don't hear the traffic from the road. There is a plethora of yummy food choices only steps away from the Villa...literally in every direction. The grounds were clean, and beautifully manicured. Well positioned lighting provided good security at night...felt very safe! Thank you so much for your care and outstanding hospitality!! Can't wait to visit again!! ❤️

Hotel is beautiful, welcoming, and the rooms newly decorated. Please never change the historic value; it adds so much! They have everything you need to be comfortable. Beds are luxurious. Staff receptive and friendly. Lots a great places to eat within walking distance plus a market. Safe and quiet area.

The heater in the room was not working for me. Two temperatures: Freezing and hot. I always bring an electric blanket, so it was not a big deal, buy the room was very cold during the night and not my best stay.

Clean room, comfortable beds, nice shower and new AC. Very friendly and accommodating staff. We had two reservations (one night before Mt. Whitney overnight summit and one night after). Unfortunately, we had to cancel the Mt. Whitney trip on the morning of the trip and needed to cancel the second booking due to that. The staff was very accommodating and understanding our tough circumstances even though it was passed the cancellation deadline.

The motel was situated in an area convenient to the area’s must visit sites.

After traveling all day and arriving to check in and stating to the front desk receptionist that we were there “to check in” we were not welcomed with a smile but told “it isn’t check in time but I will check to see if your room is ready”. It was. That same male receptionist never smiled during our two night stay.

I think it's rare to find a room this nice at this price. Everything was super clean and updated. New refrigerator, new ac/heat unit, new microwave, nice wall unit for clothes, heater in the bathroom. Extremely clean. Walking distance to everything in town, and a stunning full view of Mt. Whitney from the window, and when you walk out the door.

The only complaint I had was that the room was a bit small for 2 people. There was a small table but only 1 chair, and there was no way there could be room for another chair. We wanted to play cards, so we ended up putting the table between the beds and sat on the beds. I am really grasping at straws to come up with something to complain about.

What a cute motel! We slept very well, it was quiet (we were in one of the last rooms in the carpark in the corner). The bed was very comfortable. There was tea and coffee in the main reception area a 30sec walk away. You are right in the middle of the small town. Go to Jake's bar! A very cool little town with western film history and even john wayne stayed at this motel. There are rooms in the main building and then bigger rooms I think in the outdoor motel bit so if you are particular, ask when booking. There was a pool but was winter and we didn't use.
