The location is truly exceptional, the most beautiful place I have ever been. To watch the sun rise or the sun going down over the mighty Mekon River is to see one of nature’s most majestic sights. A visit to Sam Phan Bok and the national reserves is ‘a must’.

I was happy with everything. The Orchid Riverside Resort is set up to create peace and tranquility with a family atmosphere in a beautiful location, and it delivers that promise. It is not a place to go if you are looking for nightlife, bars, restaurants and an active social life. It is a place for total relaxation. You will need a car.

This felt like a magical place! The views from the hotel are beautiful and the gardens are meticulously kept and had nice swings and benches to relax and taking in the views. I really appreciated the tours you could organize via the hotel. Breakfast was awesome with lots of fresh fruit, I appreciated you could choose from different options so everyone in our family could chose something they liked. The hotel location is very convenient to visit the natural parks nearby and to enable onwards travel to Pakse, Laos. We also visited a gorgeous temple on the way to the border.

The location is perfect. My room was right on the Moon River with a terrace. Restaurant is also on the water and serves a wide array of Thai and western food. The young man, Bon, who kind of runs the place was great. Very friendly and belpful. They also offer transportation to the fabulous Pha Taem National Park and Sam Phon Bok. It’s a very relaxing and comfortable place to stay.

I thought the transportation was overpriced and probably if you arranged to go the famed sites in the area like Pha Taem and Sam Phon Bok it would be less expensive to arrange it in town. However, the resort is a few miles out of Khong Chiam so it was easier to just use the hotel services.

Who cares about breakfast in a place like this? Sitting outside in the garden, right next to the mighty Mekong river is absolutey spectacular. And yes, of course, there is good breakfast and coffee and the works.

There was so much to see in the region Just not enough time to try out the pool in the resort. Next time we'll bring more time.

We liked everything about the property, the food was great and the view overlooking the river and the sunset were fantastic, a must for anyone thinking of going there.

Looking forward to a nice cool relaxing swim in the pool but unfortunately when you jumped in the water was very warm, needs to have some cover over the pool because it is directly open to the sun, that is why the water was warm.

the bungalow is amazing for family type. a room is huge and comfortable . the hotel view is amazingly of a big river.

the area is far from the city centre . not much choice for a dinner u need to drive out to city centre.

Location is superb. On the banks of the mighty Mekong. Sunrise and sunset spectacular. Room very clean and comfortable. Shower had lots of hot water. Breakfast and dinner very nice.

An absolute beauty of a resort. On the bank of the Mekong, the setting was superb. Breakfast was very good in that the eggs were freshly cooked and hot! Very unusual in many resorts and hotels. Dinner was good. The chalets were first class and spacious.

Pity that the excellent Barolo was served straight from the fridge! Not unusual in Thailand.

The resort is perfectly located at the junction of the Mun and Mekong river. Most rooms in bungalow style have a terras with view on the river to quietly enjoy the scenery and sunset. Good WiFi is available and the rooms have very comfy beds. A generously equipped mini-bar is available. The resort is well managed, very clean and the staff is very helpfull and can address guests using foreign languages. Nice garden elements to relax and a pool that is well taken care of can provide some refreshment on hot days. The breakfast was delicious and the restaurant can serve several Thai as well as Western dishes. Imported beef menu's are excellent and reasonably priecd. This is a top location in the area.

There is nothing that I can think of that could be improved. I call this well-managed resort a "no-brainer" and it will be my first choice of stay when I am in the area.

Very nice property along the Mekong. Amazing view, really quiet, peaceful and enjoyable. The food was really good and they have a selection of nice wines too. Nice staff. Perfect spot to relax and to go and see nearby national parks.
