Generally fine. Good-sized room for any hotel in Japan, and nice to have a large bathroom + tub. I only wish the staff at check-in had alerted me to the fact that I had to notify them by a certain time the day before if I wanted breakfast the next morning. I have no complaints about the policy, since it avoids pointless wastage, just wish I had known earlier, since I never saw the sign until it was too late. Price, though slightly steep for a tiny town, was somewhat understandable given the size of the hotel, its rooms, and the fact that tourism is pretty low there.

Decent hotel. Staff speaks English very well. The room is a nice size. It's obviously old so don't expect modern. Fridge keeps things cool (tip: the center shelf can actually freeze your drinks. put drinks on the bottom). There are outlets located at the desk, one at the headboard of the bed, and one near the door. Probably more outlets in the bathroom but I don't remember. The desk outlet has a multi plug but I didn't use it since my 4 port charger is too heavy and too big. Internet is decently fast. Could get a bit slow in the morning but rest of the day is fine. I got 9th floor. Not sure where the noise is coming from but I hear a lot of slamming noises (maybe neighbor or at the laundry on 10th floor). Walls aren't sound proof but enough to drown some of the noise. Location is perfect, near ueno park, ninja museum, and next to train stations. Price is reasonable. Other reviewers said you can't control the temperature. I think that's wrong. Was able to change how hot the air is, but I don't know if you can do cold air. I put it to 15C and was only getting room temperature air blowing.

Downsides: I wish they replace the pillows as it's very hard and only includes 1. I had to put my clothes under the pillow to raise it and to give some sort of softness to it. Maybe I should have asked front desk to give me a second pillow. Also, mattress is old, And blankets have small stains.

Location, especially the higher floors, are amazing because it's one of the tallest buildings in an area with not very tall buildings for a great view. It's incredibly close to delicious restaurants, historic sites, and the train station. They also offer nice themed goodies for sale of the towns specialty, ninjas.

The beds were quite firm and only one key card even for a double room was less than ideal but definitely not a deal breaker.

No ninjas attacked my son through the wall. He was unable to compete his ninja training after spending time in Iga.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, and made our stay pleasant. Facilities were adequate and easy walking distance to the major attractions.

The breakfast is well prepared and served in terms of anti-Covid 19 virus, with every dish wrapped up in plastic covering.
