I think there really is not enough time to tell everything about what I loved about Basera Boutique Hotel. After getting off the airplane at Tribhuvan International Airport, I met my driver, who came to pick me up in the hotel's van. Since it took time for me to get my visa and to clear through customs and such, he had been waiting for over an hour to meet me. He was still very kind as he answered my questions in English and helped to welcome me to Nepal, which was my first time. After about 20 minutes, I noticed a beautiful structure in front of me, which was exactly the same as the amazing pictures used to advertise the hotel. As we pulled into the entrance, we were greeted by a security guard who opened my door and saluted me, welcoming me to the hotel. After my bags were taken to the front desk, I was greeted by, I believe, a man named Kushal. At first, I did not know if this very kind-hearted, extremely caring, and informative man was typical of the staff in the hotel and Nepalese in general. Before giving me a key, telling me about the hotel, and trying to get the paperwork out of the way, Kushal asked me how my trip was, where I was from, whether it was my first time coming to Nepal, and what would I be doing during my stay. I welcomed this type of kindness very much. However, Kushal's kindness was not an anomaly at the hotel. The next morning for breakfast, I was greeted by a similar kind soul at the restaurant. The waitress was so welcoming and kind-hearted as she guided me around the absolutely amazing buffet-style breakfast. There was an impressive mix of Nepalese food and Western food. I remember the delicious French toast that came with three different types of syrups, plus several different types of bread, countless types of vegetables and fruit, and made-to-order dishes like omelets. Delicious food, amazing traditional Nepalese atmosphere, and second-to-none service are only a few of the items waiting for you in Basar Boutique Hotel.

I didn't bring my wife to share in the amazing experience, and I could only stay a short time. Next time, I guess!

It was an excellent stay all around at this beautiful property. It was so clean and everything worked well. They provided a great buffet breakfast with custom eggs and coffees. I had a manicure and pedicure at their spa too. The staff were the best - i had a 6 night stay so that was important. They were always professional and helpful and smiling. I booked this hotel because of reviews i read and they were not wrong- i would highly recommend.

There are not a lot of services in a short walking distance but you end up taking taxis anyway. The hotel security/doormen were always most helpful with this too.

Great hotel as they go the extra mile in every aspect. Wonderful breakfast and the day of early departure a mega huge breakfast package. Pickup from airport and drop off from bus station direct in front of the correct bus. . Immediate attention to all requests, such as repairing the fridge. No tourist style restaurants in the area but local ones and shops very close. We walked to Durbar Square and Patan or ordered a car cheaply via the Patao App. All the service and the attractive rate during February made us forget that room and facilities are not new anymore.

We were able to change the room several times to get away from top floor restaurant and road noise. 4th or 5th floor recommended (401-404 or 501-504).

My wife and I had a truly exceptional stay at Basara Boutique Hotel. We were amazed by the high level of quality and attention to detail, which far exceeded our expectations for Kathmandu. The property’s unique design creates an atmosphere of luxury and tranquillity—ideal for a relaxing escape. The restaurant upstairs is also outstanding. We had Thali there, and it was one of the best we’ve ever tried—trust me, we had around 20 Thali dishes during our trip! The service was equally impressive. Last but not least, the shower in our room was fantastic and washed away all the fatigue from our Pokhara trip. A special thank you to Ms. Dees, who went above and beyond in showing us around and helping to plan our evening in the city. If you’re seeking an upscale, peaceful retreat in Kathmandu, I highly recommend Basara Boutique Hotel.

Best hotel in Kathmandu! The accommodation is well located in a quiet zone. The hotel staff is extremely helpful, kind, and very much welcoming, always ready to assist you, generous and always available to offer help calling taxis, or giving great city recommendations or even ready to support you preparing short trips around. The facilities are cleaned and well preserved. The hotel has security at the entrance at all times. The restaurant conditions seem hygienic and up to high standards, and the food is tasty and good variety during the breakfasts. The hotel offered laundry service delivered the same day, which was very convenient. There is a small gym, but it has all you need for a short stay to keep fit. There is also a nice restaurant at the top floor with nice views to the city. As well, there is a cozy cafe at the entrance with great lunch options. I went on a business trip and used the wifi to work online from my room and also from the restaurant and cafe without any issues and always enjoying a strong internet connection. Overall I had an excellent experience at Basera Boutique Hotel, highly recommended!

The hotel staff is the biggest positive aspect of it. Always very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good and substantial. The Bhansa restaurant offers an immersion into Nepalese culture through its cuisine and typical dance performances, making it a great option for tourists. The services offered by the SPA are excellent. The gym is comprehensive, despite being small.

My room was located right below the Bhansa restaurant, so it was a bit noisy during the afternoon and early evening. The pool could be better utilized if it were heated. The breakfast lacked variety of juices and had limited fruit options.

The staff was really helpful and the food in restaurants is just great. Real experience. The hotel also organizes dancing performances every evening in the hotel and this is excellent for those with limited time in Kathmandu. The decoration and clearness of the hotel are both perfect. The hotel room was really quiet and I could sleep and work. Wi-fi is very good and I would love to come again.

Hotel rooms are excellent, but there are too many lights to master them in few days when staying in the hotel. I believe there is no need to have so many options for lightening the beautiful rooms :)

Beautifully decorated hotel that is around 10-15 min drive from the airport (we had also booked a room with round trip airport transfers included which were seamlessly organised). The staff are wonderful; Smriti at the reception desk was incredibly helpful with all of our asks. The food and coffee were excellent at the Base Camp Cafe. We had a wonderful thali and were entertained by Nepalese dancers at Bhansa restaurant. Our breakfast at The Mantra was wonderful too. We had some great massages at the spa, and enjoyed a swim on the rooftop pool. Cannot fault our stay - it was wonderful! Highly recommend, and would definitely return.

I loved our stay at Basera Boutique Hotel! Very good location in a calm and safe neighborhood close to ministries. Newari architecture all over the building, including the rooms and the pool. The food at the restaurant was authentic Nepali food, with high quality of raw materials and the opportunity to enjoy cultural nights with Nepali dances. I have to emphasize that the highlight of this hotel is definitely the amazing staff: smiley, always eager to help you (including airport transfer, taxi calling, guide and hiking reservations) and giving their best to make your stay in Kathmandu unforgettable!!!! Of course, in my next trip to Nepal I am going to stay here again! Highly recommended!!!
