Great hotel in a wonderful location. Our room has recently been renovated, and carpet change in the hallways is expected very soon so that everything will be new. The breakfast was of good quality considering it was free. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious! I especially want to highlight Eli for her exceptional level of service. Always with a smile on her face, she was making us want to return to the restaurant again and again! There are plenty of sun loungers and tables on the beach, so you can spend the whole day there.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a kayak for two people or a pedal boat, and the kids were looking forward to riding together! Many guests mentioned that these used to be available on the beach but have disappeared. The geese on the beach were quite annoying. First, the area is messy with droppings, making it hard to walk around. Second, there are many feathers in the water, giving it a dirty appearance, even though it’s very clear! If something could be done about the geese and kayaks/pedal boats could be added, this hotel would be unbeatable! The Toronto Islands had the same goose problem, but they managed to resolve it somehow, and there are no geese there anymore.

The proximity to a beautiful swimming lake at Otter Lake. Kayaks, Canoes, and Paddle Board were lying around free to use. The children loved the floating trampoline. The beach was raked daily. There was an open fire pit for sitting around at night. They also had an indoor pool and a very hot sauna. The sunset and morning views over the lake were spectacular . While eating you had ringside seats of the stunning views. No dogs allowed, which was great. The upgraded rooms were clean without carpeting. There was a huge 55 inch Samsung TV Even in the older rooms. The rooms have a bar fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. Rooms were large with either a king size bed and sitting area. All rooms had views of the lake, to be enjoyed on the balcony with a libation. The restaurant served free hot breakfasts, that were enjoyable. Dinners were pricey for being average. I liked each table received a litre bottle of water. This was all I drank because the wine list, especially the red was terrible and had obscure descriptions such as taste of leather, eucalyptus, hint of mint. We wanted a red to celebrate, but declined after sampling one and stuck with the water. They had a ping pong table and foosball. They even had a guitar to sign out. Two video games for bored kids. The kids had a lot of fun in the pool and lake. Oh yes, a fishing rod could also be signed out. The place is intimate with only 62 rooms. The main club house is warm and cozy. I heard they hosts a lot of weddings and birthday celebrations. They have many repeat guests returning year after year. I will definitely return. Looking forward to swimming and scenic canoeing amongst the loons. All the staff worked hard but still managed to smile. We particularly enjoyed the friendly Mexican staff, with whom I could practice my basic Spanish. Raymond was fantastic and became our friend and spoiled us. We also liked his girlfriend Ellie and all the rest of the servers.
The dirty carpets in the dated rooms. We checked one of their upgraded rooms without carpets and new fridge and microwave. Definitely we will stay in one of these next time. Eventually all rooms will be upgraded. The paddles for the kayak and canoes, and paddle boards were in bad shape. Also the boats were old and worn. One canoe had a broken seat. Oh well ,they were free to use.

Nice location, serene and the facilities were great and spacious. Free use of kayaks and pool is good service although we couldn’t use them because of the weather.
The staff and customer service was horrible. Other than one reception lady, all others were rude, not helpful including the restaurant staff. The male receptionist didn’t give us proper info when checking in and failed to answer the phone for 3 hours to book the restaurant only to then be told it was full. They seem really weird and restrictive about serving food although they give a generous portion - the system of having to book a time and the poor customer service makes us not want to come back.

The location was absolutelybeautiful. The staff at the front desk went above and beyond to help. The restaurant staff were friendly, efficient and clean.
Alot of things didn't work great for us upon arrival. Our key did not work, which is not a big deal but we went out the exit at the end of the stairs(top floor), to go to the back in. We got locked out and stairs didn't go down to ground level. We were lucky a staff member heard us and let us walk though their living quarters. Fan did no wok in the room, hot water tap spun window was very hard to open and was scared I might break it trying. Someone had smoked on the balcony which was not a big deal either. But left their cup with butt's there. The kayak my husband took had a slow leak.

Although we arrived on a very snowy evening, the lot and driveway had been cleaned and maintained of snow. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very tastefully decorated and larger than expected even though we didn't get the originally booked rooms as they did not get our Booking.com reservations. The pool and sauna were really nice. The restaurant food was delicious! We had lunch and dinner there as well as the complimentary breakfast provided and can say that all the meals were excellent.
The sound transfer between floors is very loud. On our 2nd night a family was put in the rooms above us and every word, footstep and bathroom visit echoed down into our rooms which took away from our enjoyment of otherwise a perfect stay. I would suggest they spread people out more or reinsulate the floors to dampen sound. It was honestly that loud... Additionally, a map of the grounds would have been nice.

Loved the location, lake and beach. It was great that the canoes, kayaks, life jackets and paddles were out and included in the stay. Very nice facility and breakfast. and having a bar fridge and microwave was a nice surprise.
That the pool code changed daily but no one told us this on check in, had to go to reception in my swimsuit to find this out. Breakfast was included but I was given a receipt to sign that looked like I was suppose to tip but it was already paid for, so not sure about this format, and what was expected.

Spacious room, comfy bed, nice vista across the lake from the balcony. Canoes for free, at least during our pre-season stay we could go whenever we wanted. Sweet little pool and sauna (giggled at the numerous signs posted to keep the Europeans from going naked). Quick drive to Parry Sound with it's quaint downtown street and good restaurants to watch trains rambling across the trestle.
Breakfast was a la carte instead of buffet which made sense given we there were app. a dozen guests (stayed a few nights in late May), so we didn't mind as such, but limiting it to one plate and one side (which meant you couldn't get buttered toast and a yogurt with your scrambled eggs) probably wasn't necessary. Dinner restaurant prices seem fairly upscale, food was good but not quite as exquisite as you'd probably expect.

I really like the natural environment of this hotel. There are really not many activities to participate in during the winter, but I believe it will be especially beautiful in the summer.
I am not a picky person but I found a brown spot on the bed. I am 5'7 and I laid down and the brown spot was right where my butt would be. It is not that big mark , maybe 1*1”. I would like to believe it was coffee mark and not something else.

Our visit was for a 2nd year wedding anniversary. The stay was amazing. Everyone was very hospitable. Some of the pros - Free Canoes, beautiful location, helpful staff (particularly this one waitress at the Forest restaurant, forget her name but she was so nice and served us with a smile during our meals)
Wash room door won't close. AC was blasting in our room even though we had the heat thermostat set to 29 degrees. It was nearly impossible to control the room temperature.

The location is great, the cleanliness is remarkable from early in the morning the staff starts cleaning and organizing the beach area. There is an indoor swimming pool but the water is cold. There are two types of rooms the standard ones that are not renovated and Delux ones that are renovated. Overall we loved our stay. If you need to go somewhere for relaxation it is the place. There are some small boats on the beach area that guests can use free of charge and it's wonderful. Photos are taken from the standard room.
There are too many wooden stairs. Please consider giving the first-floor rooms to people with infants since they can't use the stroller. Unfortunately, one of us fell down and got injured while walking down the stairs.
