- Owner is awesome! Very accommodating and pleasant. - Towels and sheets were clean (bleached) and the bed was comfortable. - Fridge and microwave were in great condition. - Water pressure was excellent!

- TV box wasn’t working — not an issue for me since I don’t really watch TV but it might be an issue for others. It seems a cable needs to be replaced. - It got a bit chilly and the Honeywell heater wasn’t working when I was there. Not sure if it needs to be checked out or if it’s purposefully turned off during summer. - Beds were clean but the carpet should be spot cleaned in areas where there are deep spill marks.

Cozy, clean, wonderful personnel at the office when first greeted and checking out, and provided everything needed for an extended weekend stay. Pillows were soft, mattresses on the thinner and softer side, and blankets were very warm even in negative temperatures outside. Heating was working well and kept the place comfortable even when the door had to be open longer while transporting larger cargo.

Water pressure in the shower was weak.

Great, friendly staff. Great vibe as well. It appears to be a bit dated in the photos, and it is, But I didn't expect it to feel so comfortable and "homey"! I expected musty odors and instead smelled fresh, pine filtered air indoors and out. Everything was clean, functional, and well stocked. The location worked out well for me, and all things combined made this place a very good value for me!

The shower heads! A pox on whoever invented the "energy saving" shower head! It results in a misting, not a shower.

Sheets and towels super comfy mini fridge ac microwave coffee maker all in working order. Room wifi router issue owner helped me connect with office one. Good conversation with the owners also borrowed us a light to check for yooper lites. We will stay again- good people with good prices with a good comfy stay.

Overall room could use updating. But after general conversation owner is self updating rooms as time goes on so that's good!

The location was excellent for my hiking adventure. Many trails were just a short distance from the motel and excellent proximity to the Porcupine Wolderness area which was wonderful for me. Royal Motel was extremely clean and an adorable room with more than ample space than I needed. Workers were accommodating. I enjoyed my two nights stay at Royal Motel after days of hiking. The bed was very comfortable too. Location, motel, staff are excellent. I liked the chairs right out my door to sit on in the evenings and visiting with folks who also were enjoying outdoors! Michiganders are friendly folks.

My only negative was the room air conditioner had not been turned on prior to my arrival. As the day's temperatures had been in the mid 90's, and I was an early evening arrival after driving 7 hours, the room didn't cool down well until after midnight. I did keep the a.c. on all the next day while out hiking in another mid 90's day and when I arrived back to my room before darkness set in, I had the most enjoyable sleep in my cool room! That is my only criticism. It could be easily remedied too by management starting the a.c. late mornings so when guests arrive, their rooms are cool.

I was exhausted and freezing when I checked in. The woman at the desk (one of the owners) was ever so nice. For some reason Booking.com had put me in a pet friendly room and right off she asked and then changed my room, to a non-pet friendly room. I have terrible allergies. But the place was great for what I needed. Comfortable bed, quiet rooms, and hot water. Thank you!

It was all great.

My boyfriend and I love the UP and we have stayed at many of the local motels. The staff are always friendly but the manager here was so pleasant and nice. He even brought us ice from his own ice maker. The bed was comfy, the water was hot. You couldn't hear the neighbors at all. It was super nice. The location was great if you are traveling in and around Ironwood. I would stay again.

This is a local owned hotel, with owners on site to ensure all your needs are met. Located on the highway with easy access to all the sites. This is my second stay here and if my travels take me back this way would stay again.

Clean and well maintained . Vintage and charming . Good heating even in sub zero temps.

As with a lot of old properties there is sometimes a lingering smell of cigarette smoke even though it’s non smoking .

Owner is awesome and so friendly. He asked if there was anything at all he could do to make my stay even better a couple time through the check in process. The room was very comfortable, with lots of in room amenities and had the softest blankets. Parking lot is huge and the motel is in a great location.
