The digital/video check-in was odd (I'd never seen that before) but it wasn't difficult and the person I videochatted with was helpful and communicated well. I thought the motel would be noisier than it was--I had heard people next door bumping around when they first checked in and the room doors open to the parking. But it actually was very quiet at night and I slept really well. Also, this motel is not luxurious in terms of furnishings, but it was clean. I was not bothered by my terrible allergies at all (which is usually how I am alerted to dust or mold or pollen in the room), there was no musty odor, and everything seemed very clean.

I wish I had received information at check-in about the sauna. I wanted to use it but didn't receive a code and I felt awkward trying to go summon someone by video kiosk.

We like finding strip motels for one or two night stays. This one was perfectly positioned for the things we wanted to do in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The room was SPOTLESS! The mattresses were FIRM, COMFORTABLE. Easy walk to corner Walgreens and convenience store. When we know we’re only going to spend sleep time in a motel, there’s no need for big and fancy. This one gets high marks from us.

We don’t care, but the CLEAN, dated bathroom has a small sink and toilet, typical of that era. Someone else may think it’s too small, but it’s perfectly usable.

What a treat! Great location, close to everything we daytripped to, and the food nearby was very good. The room was tidy, vintage fixtures, and comfortable beds. Classic roadside motel experience you want in the north woods. The owners were on site and extremely kind, the sauna was a great bonus, and we loved that this was close to town, only 20 minutes from the beautiful beach at Lake Superior, and only 30 minutes from the waterfalls at the Mouth of the Black and Mouth of the Presque Isle, back roads to Porcupine Mountains and Lake in the Clouds, and 20 minutes to Adventure Peak which is a one of a kind experience. So thankful for a cozy home base to regroup with family and rest between our outdoor adventures. Room 31 has a bonus twin bedroom with its own door which was a nice surprise! They have HBO and wifi, which we didn't get a chance to use but they're great features. The virtual check in kiosk was unexpected and I've never used one before, same with the smart locks on the doors, but it worked well and it helps the owners manage the building and day to day responsibilities without stretching them to all hours of the day. Neat!

An efficient and economical home base for our adventuring in the Ironwood area. Good mattress, very clean, bonus mini-fridge and microwave. We were very happy there.

Since we're 75, we prefer a walk-in shower and the property doesn't have any of those. But the bathtubs aren't so high to step over and they have two safety rails in the shower. I'd also prefer a higher toilet, but we managed easily for our two-night stay.

Clearly, it was recently remodeled so everything looked new. The beds were very comfortable. The window air conditioning worked.

The initial check in attempt with the virtual assistant didn’t connect and we were nervous since it was 8 PM and there were no people around. But the second time we connected it worked just fine. It was my first experience with a virtual assistant.

No breakfast, or didn’t eat it. Don’t really remember. Virtual/remote check-in is weird at such a mid-20th Century property but worked great and my operator was friendly and knew the score.

Everything was fine. Did they have in room coffee? If not, boo. If so, please ignore.

I stay at the Indianhead Motel whenever I'm in the area for downhill & cross country skiing, which is multiple time a year. The rooms are always clean and comfortable, and I always look forward to my stay. This stay was no exception.

The room was extremely clean! Our family lives in Ironwood, due to price and cleanliness we will use this motel again!

The facility is dated/rustic, however, it is well taken care of.

A perfect little stopover on a drive through the North Country! The office guy was really nice when we checked out in the morning, and the property was quiet and perfectly functional for our stay.

Nothing was particularly bad about the room, for the cost. The bathroom was a bit old, but again, I feel like a jerk complaining about it since it made no difference to us, and the hot water was great.

Huge room. Comfy beds.

There was a car leaking oil terribly and moving spot to spot so that we had to walk through oil to go to our room. Previous tenants had also done so. So the carpet was oil stained too. Too bad.
