The location, facilities & the staff were terrific! Sleeping Giant Resort is located right off beautiful Humming Bird Hwy, not that far from Belmopan, close to Herman's Cave & The Blue Hole. I believe the whole resort & development covers 500 acres, so it feels like you are in your own world! We loved the bikes, hiking trails, bridges, lookout tower, animals (poultry, peacocks, sheep, horses, bunnies, turtles, birds), river/tubing, outdoor wood-fire pizza dining area, restaurants, pools, gardens, sitting areas, large rooms, everything was bonus! We felt like celebrities lol, all the staff was amazing, friendly, kind, so helpful! The higher price justified the inclusions & amenities. We came during low season & stayed in Riverview room #5, so it was a great value. We loved everything about this place & can't wait to return! Thank you <3

As a couple we enjoyed everything. We would love to bring the family next time. They had more activities than we expected, -not sure if they had an area for ping pong/billiards/games/playground for evenings? Sadly, we were only there for 1 day.

In the river view suite 2, we had an infinity edge hot tub (really like a warm tub, so perfect for the kids) right on the balcony with amazing views. Parents were able to relax in the room while the kids played. Giant firefly’s, howler monkeys, birds, all the noises of the jungle. Gorgeous. Exceeded our expectations.

I wish they had like a lunch taco stand sort of thing where you could get a quick bite (they do have pizza but it’s kind of expensive). The restaurant was good but a slow experience, which can be totally fine but when your kids just want to get to the pool it would be nice for faster options. We were traveling with kids and it was spring break, but I could imagine travelers without children might find the amount of children a bit much.

Having access to both properties in the Belize Collection was amazing. You are able to enjoy the Humo restaurant and the pool at the banks which is a short bike ride away. The bikes are complimentary and the best way to get to all the amenities including the rope bridges and lookouts. Any staff member you run into is eager to help and always has a smile on their face. If you do come to this Lodge, I recommend taking a full day to Explore the entire property. That’s an adventure in itself. If you are more into modern stays, then the banks is perfect for you. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

That I didn’t have more time to stay longer!

Location was great. Staff was very nice. The cave tubing was fun, just a little overpriced. Staff was attentive as well. Beautiful grounds and accommodations. Interesting there was a kitchen, but not many places to shop for groceries. Beds were very comfortable.

The food at Humo was ok. Descriptions could have been better. What was described, wasn’t always what was served and we had to ask for the missing ingredients. The fish was very dry. Coffee maker didn’t get inspected before us arriving and was dirty and broken. Coffee cups were the size of cappuccino cups when there was only a coffee maker. Didn’t have enough creamer. One of the sliders wouldn’t shut so the bugs were coming in. Had to get maintenance to fix. Only two sets of silverware for a two bedroom. There were three of us, so one person could only use a spoon to eat our dinner when we ordered in.

One of the best boutique hotel/resort stays we’ve ever had. Service was exceptional. Loved how they used WhatsApp for a direct line to a personal concierge. They helped us arrange room service, massages, excursions, a night hike, an extra bed for my six year old, and more. Jamie was amazing he should be promoted to run the customer experience soup to nuts. Their grounds are immaculate and a beautiful landscape architecture with flowing streams, paths, flowers, fauna, etc.

The property was stunning! The vegetation and the style of the rooms were so beautiful. Hiking and biking were fantastic!! The kayaking wasn’t much and luckily we are strong enough to move the kayaks into the water but not sure how some people would do it.

This review is for the hotel only. What we didn’t think highly of (and would get a 3/5 tops) was the restaurant. The food was just okay. We had dinner and breakfast there. Very basic for the price. And on top of that there was 12.5% tax and 10% resort free. Plus of course our tip. So we are talking minimum 32.5% on top of the food price and 42.5% if you tip 20%. Therefore the cost was even worse.

We stayed at the Rainforest Lodge for three nights and it was incredible. There was so much to do and it was so relaxing at the same time. We used the bikes they had, kayaked in the river, enjoyed walking the grounds, climbed in the treehouse (the nest) and played in the pool. We travelled with two children and the place was magical for the kids and grownups alike.

Loved almost everything. Beautiful grounds, good restaurant, friendly helpful staff. If I had to mention one weakness, it would be the house keeping service. Maybe I expect too much but a $300 US, the room should look brand new every time you return to it. Ours was never full restocked and/or bed not completely made up. Other than that we really loved this place.

This hotel is amazing and exceeded our expectations. Deep in the jungle. Lobby was beautiful. Room was perfect. Pool was perfect. The food was the best we had on our trip. They have one main restaurant and then a outside fire pizza restaurant. Our ATM cave tour was cancelled due to all the rain which probably worked out ok, because I wouldn't have been able to have the best day hiking and biking the property. It goes on for miles. We stayed in River View 1 room and could not have been more pleased. We had an amazing view of the river. This room also had an outdoor shower and bathtub which we used. :) Bed was so comfortable with feather bedding. The drive to get there is about 1.5-2 hours so be prepared for that but was well worth it. This hotel and the visit to the jungle was by far the highlight of our trip!

A beautiful resort with great amenities and lots to do! Wandering around the property, all of the gorgeous landscaping is a real treat and the aromas from the flowers are wonderful. The staff in the restaurant/bar are attentive and friendly and the rooms are nice and clean--they look just like the photos. We originally planned only a single night, but returned for another 2 nights to make sure Beryl didn't have any impacts on San Pedro (so we liked it enough to return despite what I say below!)

Staff at the front desk can be oddly perfunctory and many seem to just be kind of sitting around on their phones. The first time we stayed there they didn't tell us about the welcome drink and seemed to be rushing us to our room; the second time was far more friendly. They also aren't super forthcoming with information about the activities so it's difficult to be properly prepared (do I bring water? what clothes do I wear? what other options are there, like cave kayaking, etc.? even the vendors commented that they've had trouble). Finally, the restaurant is super pricey so one of the nights we took off for Armenia, the nearby town, and ate at Las Palapas for less than half the price and larger servings. Hibiscus Cafe was another recommended option.
