Set in beautiful surroundings of nature. Peaceful sun room attached to bungalows with hammock to relax in. Wifi and aircon worked well. Spare bed linen/blankets available by request from reception if the night time is a bit cooler. Water stations available around the restaurant areas to refill your bottle for free. Fridge in room. Breakfast was good.

The walk to main areas of town is 20-30mins. I consider myself pretty fit, no issues walking down, but the hills on the way back are extreme, so you might end up getting taxis back. The bungalows have thatched roofs and when it rains heavy, lots of bugs fall through (there is a fabric sheet to protect them falling on you whilst you sleep and housekeeping automatically came in to clean them all up)

We enjoyed our stay in Cahal Pech a lot, we would specially recommend the excursions organised by the hotel (the excursion package is a very good deal). We appreciated the restaurant at the lodge, the food was quite good. Overall, the hotel has a lot of charm and it provides very good value for money.

The cleanliness of the rooms could be improved, the floors and the surfaces were never fully clean. Even though, it is quite hard to achieve that with the material of the cabana roofs. The wi-fi quality is quite poor from the rooms (very good from the common areas). The AC during the day is not very good, since the cabanas are not well isolated from the heat.

The location on top of the hill meant that the views during the day and at night were quite beautiful. The restaurant food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good - tasty, well presented and quite good value. There is also the option of the hotel next door for an evening meal. The hotel is only a very short walk to the impressive Cahel Pech Archeoligical site where you can easily spend 2 hours exploring. Being on top of the hill it required a VERY steep hike back up after checking out the town centre. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

San Ignacio, a perfect mix of culture, history, and adventure, this lively town is the starting point for so many awesome activities and excursions. The Maya ruins of Cahal Pech and Xunantunich are just minutes away, where else can you explore ancient royal palaces, wander through lush rainforests, spot exotic wildlife, and marvel at stunning natural landscapes, take a hand-cranked ferry over the Mopan River, meet proud Belizean people, tryin different types of food, spending time in an interesting colourful town center to get a glimpse of daily life in Belize. #SanIgnacio #Belize #Cahal Pech #Xunantunich

Older rooms in main building, breakfast expensive and ordinary

We were blown away by the room when we arrived- we stayed in one of the Tiki houses and the veranda with a hammock to sit outside without getting bitten my mosquitos! The room itself was beautifully furnished which made for a lovely romantic stay. The pools were also great, the moment we arrived after a hot and sticky journey- a dip in the pool was exactly what we needed! Great location too for fabulous restaurants/bars and of course the Cahal Pech ruins which are next door

Absoutely nothing

Was beautiful setting upon the top of the mountain and close to the Mayan ruins which you could walk to and there was virtually no one else there. The staff were hard working and super friendly and helpful.

It’s in need of some TLC some septic smells behind the Kitchen when you take that path and loud partying patrons kept us awake late one night. There seemed to be no security to tame them down or encourage them to stop when inappropriate sexual advances in the hot tub were observed that they took over for hours one day.

In my opinion, this place is underrated. It is in a great location overviewing the city and a great place to hang out, chill out and relax. The view is nice, it is next to amazing Mayan ruins, the staff is friendly, the restaurant and bar are good, they have a souvenir shop which offers great cappuccino.

The lower pool was not very clean when I visited. The upper pool next to the bar was fine. For the facilities to be great a gym would be nice.

The multiple pool were nice, staff was all nice and helpful, had filtered water available for free, cafe on site (for extra fee) was good, bungalows were cute, and walking distance to the Cahal Pech ruins. We also did a tour through them and would highly recommend - they were very flexible on timing and it was very reasonably priced.

Restaurant food was mediocre, would eat elsewhere (Obsidian next door was good), and lots of stairs depending on which bungalow you're in

I think this is the best place you can stay in when visiting San Ignacio. Even though the location is not ideal if you want to visit the center of town, you get the best bang for your buck. The cabins are absolutely awesome with the glass room with the hammock. The wifi was not very reliable and dropped often but I was still able to do some work one afternoon, when I took my laptop to the pool area. I love the restaurant and pool area. The view is incredible. I liked the little coffee shop and I recommend their banana bread loaf! The hotel excursions are expensive (but this is the same all over Belize) but well organized.

The staff was not super friendly. We always felt like we had done something wrong. I don't recommend the sushi restaurant. It is super overpriced (like same prices as in the US) and they made us wait forever for our food, even though the restaurant was almost empty. The hotel's location is a bit far from downtown San Ignacio. It's a long walk through a mostly empty part of town (although we always felt safe!)

Although the location was out of town a bit, it is still walkable to town if you’re willing to climb the mega hill back to the hotel, the view above town is incredible and it’s right next to a Mayan site. Staff was great, food was great, loved our cabin, and pools were awesome.

The A/C was quite weak and I’m not an A/C person. It was May and in the 100s so the room cooled off, but still pretty warm for sleeping. Learned to keep fan off and that helped. Staff did not reinforce quiet hours and a group kept us up partying at the pool until almost 2am one night despite me yelling at them.
