The rooms were cold and damp. One evening after it rained, the clothes in our bags were damp as well as the bedding. The walls and windows were visibly wet each day and night. The hotel changed bedding but had no fix for the damp in the room. The rooms are not soundproof and there is a lot of noise throughout the night. The Bromo sunrise tour starts too early - you arrive at the viewpoint around 2 hours before sunrise and wait in the cold. This could be cut shorter by leaving 60-90 minutes later and you could still have the experience of the sunrise without waiting around in the cold for hours.

It's a good property at an ideal location to explore Mt Bromo. The room is of decent size though washroom needs some upgrade. It was clean with a nice balcony. The hospitality is good and they were helpful enough to book Mount Bromo sunrise tour even though we checked in late at 8pm and booked our cab for the airport also next morning. All at fair prices. Resturant is good enough, though last order is at 9/9:30.

Would have been a 10 had they been responsive on email or website messaging or phone. Otherwise very helpful when you are there.

The resort is one of the better accommodation options in CemoroLawang (most other places are homestays), so if you are coming to Mt Bromo and want to linger around the town for a little longer, Jiwa Jawa is probably the best choice. The resort has a large garden and also an art gallery with photos taken by local photographers about Mt Bromo. It is some distance away to the entrance of the volcano, but any jeep can pick you up at the resort and send you to the volcano to see the sunrise. The room is generally clean, and they provide room service everyday. There’s also a restaurant on the opposite side of the resort (called Belanga) and the food there is really nice! Definitely one of the better Indonesian dishes I have tried (recommend Rawon Bromo which is a beef stew/soup). The rate comes with a complimentary breakfast which is mostly local options (which is the one I would recommend) and some continental options as well. The breakfast is served until 10am so you can still enjoy it after the sunrise trip in the early morning. Love the food there!

The only disadvantage is it’s located a little bit further from the volcano compared to other homestays which you may be able to reach the volcano on foot. However, the comfort of staying here definitely outweighs the little bit travel time, especially after a tiring hike and early wake up, a comfortable bed to sleep is really important:)

The staff at Jiwa Jawa are all very friendly and helpful and they kindly gave us an upgrade this trip. The room they gave us was fabulous and we were really thrilled with the size and location. The restaurant is also fantastic. Food is great and restaurant staff very professional.

More effort needed on cleanliness. The window sills were full of dead flies and the soap dispenser was empty.

An excellent quiet room in close proximity to the volcano. Luxurious fresh air.

The sink was in one place, while the shower cabin was in another, which was not very convenient. It would also be preferable to have a handheld showerhead in the shower cabin. Additionally, I didn't like the presence of flies flying around in the dining room.

The staff were exceptionally warm and accommodating. The surroundings scenery is spectacular.

You need to figure out which dishes the chef is good at. Some were not great. The banana brulee was a disaster. but other dishes were wonderful.

The Jiwa Jawa is a very pretty, well maintained property with superb breakfast and amazing views.

It was quite noisy in the room and the blinds weren’t great. Also, some of the staff barely spoke English which made communication a bit difficult. Still, they were very friendly.

The rooms are nice and comfortable with a stunning views. The staff is really kind and helpful. The breakfast I can mark 9 out of 10. Location is the best if you'd like to enjoy the volcanoes trips.

The general water supply is really pathetic. The pressure of the water is up and down and taking a shower is a big adventure. WiFi - it's just to say there is a service. I don't think this is the hotel's fault or just the level of supply in those area.

Outstanding breakfast. Great spread of options, both Western and Indonesian. Excellent quality. Good taste.

Please clean the windows, especially the windows upstairs in the loft family rooms. Full of dirt, dust, spider webs and bird poop.

Beautifully designed hotel with great views. Their restaurant has nice food and great service. Worked super well as a basecamp to Bromo.

Our room is a bit small. Kindly suggest families with children or big luggage maybe choose another room type.
