I loved that it was so close to the beach and that my room had a small balcony and a very comfortable rocking chair. I sat for hours, loving the view, the flowers in the garden, the birds, the sound of the sea. It was so relaxing. The staff were friendly, very helpful when wanting specific information and made me feel very much at home. The location was ideal for me - away from the main drag, but close enough to walk to at night. There were some lovely beachside restaurants nearby. Breakfast was plentiful and gave great variety. Afternoon coffee and cake was a bonus! I thoroughly enjoyed my time there because it ticked nearly all my boxes! I would have to have a room facing the sea if I returned again! They even had a place to wash off the sand at the gate and deckchairs that could be borrowed.

The breakfast area was a wee bit squashed - I would have loved having my breakfast looking out at the view, but I realise that it would be difficult to have both dining room and bedrooms with views! There was a party hostel nearby whose loud music goes on most of the night. I was fine because I had brought earplugs!

Everything was just perfect. Lovely room, lovely view, the staff were all so lovely and friendly. Beautiful breakfast, location was perfect, right on the beach. Very safe, you could still walk on the beach after dark even as a single woman. I certainly wouldn’t do that in central Rio de Janeiro. Ancoradouro was very central to the shops, the many restaurants and bars. It was sooo nice and peaceful and relaxing with plenty to do at the same time!!! Thank you so much

The breakfast, the staff, the room with a view. A huge part of the island ran out of electricity for nearly 24 hrs but they had a power generator! Really impressed! And the best, i felt like I was home.

The wifi is terrible. It didn't work in our bedroom (or it was too weak). They need better modems or signal amplifiers. Another important issue that is worth mentioning is the noise coming from the rude hostel neighbours, who play loud music til 2 am (doesn't matter if it's high season or not, or if it's Friday or a Monday, it's gonna be loud til late). We saw this was gonna be a problem based on a review we read, and we brought ear plugs, and we used our phones to produce white noise, which really helped to muffle the loud music.

Very nice staff and super clean. Basic furniture but beds were comfortable. Breakfast was nice too. the location suited us as we were away from the center, but there was a lot of noise at night from parties nearby.

The legs of the beds stick out and all of us hurt our knees and feet as we tripped and bumped on them many times. bad design….

this was an amazing stay! the place is right by the beach so you go to sleep to the sound of the ocean. the staff is super friendly (Renata was great) and very willing to help. The shower is the best we had in all Brazil! It’s far enough away from the center of town to be feel like a retreat, but still close to some great restaurants by the beach. Excellent breakfast!

The only thing I would say is a negative is that it’s close to some youth hostels with loud music on Saturday nights. but otherwise great!
