For such a hotel, transfers to and from the hotel/village by boat should be free during the whole stay, not only at check in/check out. Especially at night where the only way to get back is by boat. The massage mattress did not smell good- seemed like it was placed in a moist room without windows for too long.

Asalem is in the most beautiful location - so peaceful, as it’s away from the main town, Abraao. However, it feels close enough, due to the taxi boats offered, costing $R20 PP each way. We walked the 15 minutes into Abraao once, just be aware that the tide comes in too high to walk the path at certain times. The staff were all friendly and would go out of their way to help all guests. The room was clean and the breakfast was delicious. Asalem also provided kayaks for guests yo use free of charge, which we took advantage of - it was great fun! Thank you Asalem!

Besides the check-in/check-out process, boat rides are priced at 20 R$ per person each way / Facilities could use some modernization and maintenance / Modern exterior does not quite match the interior style of the rooms / Outdated bathrooms

The staff was absolutely incredible and went out of their way to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. Every tour we booked through the hotel picked us up right on the hotel dock so we didn’t have to make the trip into town. On our last day, we were hoping to take a taxi to Lopes Mendes beach, but since it was the slower season, they did not have any return trips planned for 3pm. Fabrizio made so many phone calls that morning to ensure we could enjoy Lopes Mendes AND get back to the main dock on time to catch our return trip to the mainland. We were so blown away by his positive attitude and enthusiasm to make our stay memorable. If you are looking for the best spot to relax in paradise, Asalem is definitely the place!

The room we had overlooked a stunning view which was worth the price alone. The location was truly incredible and made it a special getaway spot.

The breakfast was not covered well, so it was attracting a lot of insects, making some of it inedible. The timing of the boat shuttle was not per schedule most times, so there were slight wait times, but it was no issue once you were prepared for it.

Incredible location and view from the room’s balcony, as well as gorgeous views from breakfast and the bar/sunbathing deck - perfect for watching the sunset. Staff very friendly and helpful, and the boat taxis to and from the town (Abraao) were super easy to use. The bar serves amazing Caipirinhas on the edge of the water with a daily happy hour early evening too!

Stunning location, with beautiful sea views, very helpful and friendly staff, and delicious food (both breakfast and evening meals). Peaceful and relaxing and while only accessible by boat, easy to get to and from the village. It was exactly what I was looking for to escape and relax for a few days!

Location and view, bar / sun bathing area

We had a few issues with communication in terms of ordering the boat to collect us from the main pier when we arrived (we waiting 50mins rather than the 10 we were told) and got the wrong food order on one occasion. I wouldn’t say this was a dislike but would advise to double check orders

We loved everything about our wonderful stay at Asalem. The setting is exactly what we were looking for - off the beaten path with a great bar and wonderful staff but still close enough to town. Fabrizio and the staff were wonderful and accommodated our every need. Rooms were comfy and had everything we needed. Views were spectacular!! We traveled as two couples for my 40th birthday and I'm so happy I picked this hotel. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

We liked everything about this hotel. The free shuttle from and to the port was a treat, the views were to die for, the breakfast was delicious with a magnificent view. The lady who was the manager was awesome. I highly recommend this hotel
