Firstly, they accommodated my last minute planning, I originally wanted one night then stayed for another to do the Sossusvlei tour. They put me in the house or the back. Dinners were lovely, and well organized. And it was the first time I tasted wildebeest and antelope. Wi-Fi was spotty and non existent at the house but I'm sure one will fare better with a proper booking. You can also just use the Wi-Fi at reception. I did laundry with them at a nominal cost and they were quite receptive to all my requests. If anything the place was rather well run indeed. I took a dip in the pool IV my first evening and the towels were furnished, removed and replenished rather quickly. My tour guide for Sossusvlei, Ziggy, was first rate and I was pleased and impressed with all he offered from the stories, lore, geography and especially his ace driving and snake spotting skills! He clearly knows what he's doing. I learned also that the property has some bushmen art on a 4k walk away but I did not get to verify this with reception.

I liked the room! Online photos were underwhelming and it is much better in person. Roomy! Crisp linen, clean rooms and helpful, friendly staff. The turndown service was special: a little chocolate and story was left on your pillow while dining and mosquito nets dropped for your convenience. We were able to arrange for a packed breakfast when we had a very early outing. The hotel offers a sundowner drive at a small fee, which was incredible! Highly recommended.
Wifi was very spotty (which wasn't the worst thing- it was good to properly disconnect). There are no restaurants in the area, so it's a bit of a "captured audience " scenario. The hotel only offers 1 meal option for dinner (a 4 course meal), so the dining costs need to be considered when staying here for a few days (especially if a SADC resident / weak currency).

The food here was amazing. However, no choices. You ate what they served, but was delicious. The room was quite fancy and clean. The guy that helped us with the bags was very efficient. Access to the free coffee machine was great. A beautiful garden in the middle of the rooms were great. A beautiful and spectacular location.
Getting to this site was difficult and required 4WD. The roads were atrocious. We had a flat tire along the way, (however Sesriem was well equipped to fix and replace the tire). [However, this hotel was a long ways from Sesriem on horrible roads.] The check-in ladies were not very friendly. But the rest of the staff were friendly and made up for it. I felt the rooms were too expensive for the value. {Maybe if the dinner was included with the price, that would make up for it}. You were so far out in the wilderness from the Sesriem Services, you felt that you were in an all-inclusive resort.

It is very well located to visit Sossusvlei. It is in the wide open space of the desert environment. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are well presented, clean and have everything needed for a comfortable stay. It is good to get breakfast as part of the price of staying overnight.
The dinners are very over priced for what you get. It seems strange that the lodge has lawns that require endless amounts of water when in the rooms guests are asked to use water sparingly and "every drop counts". It would make more sense to develop more water wise gardens.

We initially planned to stay for only one night in Sesriem, but we ended up staying for two because the place was so wonderful! The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views all around. The food was also a highlight—without a doubt, the best menu of our entire vacation. Every meal was delicious and perfectly prepared. The rooms are beautifully decorated, offering a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, which made our stay even more enjoyable. They also offer excursions to Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, the canyon, and the various dunes, all of which I highly recommend. We had an incredible outing and really appreciated the chance to explore these iconic landmarks. We also did a sundowner, the views were incredible, and it was a perfect way to wind down after a day of exploration.
It was quite pricey, but given how beautiful everything was—from the location and views to the food and accommodations—I feel it was definitely worth the cost.

In a heavenly location, surrounded by vast mountain and desert. The staff were wonderful. The big boss lady and the staff remembered I got sick at dinner and left in the middle, they inquired how I felt the next couple days. Very sweet people. We booked a Sundown Jeep tour with guide Daniel. What a wonderful tour! We got to see and hear about different plants, cave, birds nest, and the gorgeous sunset up on a small hill. Highly recommended.
The hot water at night could be tricky, I didn’t shower one of the night cos the water wasn’t hot enough.

It was a quick stop as we needed a place near the Dunes. It was in a great location and had great facilities. The staff were friendly and when we had a slight issue with our room they moved us immediately to a different room. Nice comfy areas to relax in and what the sunset. Breakfast was abundant and well cooked. Extremely helpful staff
Was a little less personal than I usually like. Lots of groups passing through which I guess is par for the course in the area. Lucky it was out of season

Elegant Desert Lodge is very well situated and reasonably priced considering it’s proximity to Sesriem. Very comfortable, spacious, tastefully decorated rooms, loved the crisp bed linen and cozy quilts. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the meals were delicious and plentiful, and the setting was beautiful. There was lots of outdoor space for guests to enjoy themselves without feeling crowded by other guests. The mid afternoon tea, coffee and cake service was a nice touch and very appreciated, as was the bed turndown in the evening, complete with small treat!
Everything was very enjoyable.

Lovely modern room with very good shower room. Wonderful views through the sliding glass doors and private terrace across the desert - a great place to have a sundowner and watch the setting sun. Lovely staff and a very good breakfast. The four course evening meal was often more than we could eat but very tasty. The swimming pool area was ideal for relaxing after an exhausting day. The small chocolate and bedtime story delivered to the room each night was a lovely idea.
The sun loungers around the pool were quite worn and stained and some were broken. Could have done with a few more loungers and parasols for when the pool area was busy. But otherwise this was a lovely area to relax.

The area was gorgeous, we had a beautiful room with a view over the open desert where we could see ground squirrels and oryxes. there was a vegetarian option available at dinner on request, which was delicious and well thought out. We took a sundowner drive with them, which was also well worth the cost, would really recommend it. We also got printed out bedtime stories and chocolates each night.
It is still quite a drive to sossusvlei, although manageable. For an early walk on the dunes you’d need a very early start here.
