It was a lovely historic cottage, in a great location, comfortable with all amenities necessary.

I would give housekeeping a bit of a pep talk - bins in the kitchen hadn't been emptied, bed in the second bedroom hadn't been made (we weren't using it so no problem but it would be a bit off if we were) and there was only one toilet roll. Apart from that the place was great!

We love old historic homes and this place certainly ticked all the boxes for us. Going on 200 years old it should be preserved as a historic home for cultural viewing in our opinion. For us staying here overnight, experiencing the feel of the place and looking through all the associated outbuildings was the experience of a lifetime.

What was there not to like.

We stayed in 2 bedroom cottage circ 1837 which has been beautifully restored by owner who has added the convenience of some modern furniture. The real surprise was in the bathroom adding to the quirkiness of the cottage. Outdoors was true country original outbuildings complete with rabbits under the fruit trees.

There was nothing to ‘not like’

this property is full of history (and maybe a ghost ??) and was a major building/business in the towns past. The owners have done a great job maintaining the character of the building and installing some modern facilities - it is a bit quirky, but we loved it

no complaints

This was a surprise. An 1827 cottage with full use of the cottage facilities. Located a short walk to the local pub for dinner. There are low doorways and ceilings in some areas so not suited to everybody but we enjoyed the experience.

Everything was great for what it was. A cleverly renovated very old cottage. Quite a few nice surprises. We loved it but had to remind ourselves of low doorways.

There was no breakfast, its a beautiful old house that i have a connection with. Mary White nee Allen is a great aunt several Times maybe 4. There is a beautiful kitchen with a warm log fire. You bring you own food to cook your own meals on a big cooking range. The bedrooms are gorgious and comfy. Everything about it is more than excellent. We loved it and we will be back for more.

Amazing piece of history that is great to stay a couple of nights. Very comfortable beds and loved the loft bedrooms

Stairs are quite steep and only full bathroom is upstairs

Bothwell was on the way to our final destination, and a great historic town to stop at on the way. Historic building (1837) treated with respect for its restoration.

Low ceiling, but this was just something to be aware of. Tap in bathroom vanity was unusual and could easily result in water on the floor.

whites corner is a heritage property and so unique. It was like stepping back in time. Still little things to do and the bloody front door is only 175cm tall so I kept hitting my head but overall fantastic beautiful property worth staying at.

I didn’t like only staying 1 night should have been more and the bathroom basin tap.

Cute historic home. Good heating once it was up to speed. Nice communal space, great shower. Loved the exposed brickwork and preserved timber door.

Soft spongy mattress, side gate dragging on ground, cold house to start the stay
