Kind and helpful staff. Lake and igloo village view in the room. Next to the igloo village. Generous dinner and breakfast. Indoor and outdoor onsen. The last bus stop and station is just outside the hotel. Recommended winter festival..see the different igloos on the frozen lake, buy drinks in the ice bar, try the snow mobile, snow rafting etc…

The meals were hearty and staff were friendly. Onsen was excellent and full of mineral benefits. Views were gorgeous and everything has met our expectations and more.

Only 1 way in or out which is via bus and frequency is low. We worked our trip schedule around it and enjoyed it. People whom are rushing for time will not like the wait to get into the location.

not much to do in the area. we were there in fall and seemed like area more popular in winter and summer. As others have mentioned - great outdoor onsen location but water very cloudy and green. This could be a desirable health quality but takes some getting used psychologically. water was not unlike some natural springs in eastern sierras in california.

This was by far our favourite hotel of the trip. Everything was wonderful, the room, the view, the Staff, attention to detail and the fabulous food which was plentiful. The staff were so friendly and very helpful. The Onsen was beautiful and the outdoor Onsen a real treat with views over the lake.

Friendly Staff. Very good Onsen, with a nice outside bath. Good food, beautiful view of the lake. Easy parking and easy access from the road.

The meal was very complete, and it would be nice to have a brief explanation of each course. Maybe a printed list, even if in Japanese.

Nothing not to love- location, friendly staff, Olsen, food, view. Sad we missed the Ice festival ( Shikaribetsu village) by only 3 days. Stayed here May 2024 and returned in the winter. Staff speaks English and is very respectful courteous and so nice.

Impressive view of the lake from dining area and room. Spacious, well equipped rooms and lovely dinner and breakfast. You can hire canoes right next to the lake. The outdoor onsen had an incredible view.

Nothing. I’d suggest only staying for 1 night as there isn’t much to do at the lake itself. Definitely worth a visit though.

Beautiful location, quiet in the off-season but maybe that's what you're looking for? The included kaiseki breakfast and dinners were excellent. The onsen baths were large, clean and well equipped.

This property is a lot better than some reviews suggest. It’s a bit old and some aspects of the decor are not great but it’s clean and comfortable with great views from the room, excellent meals, and great hiking at the door. You can even rent canoes and kayaks. Overall good value for the money.
