Hotel was great and a reworked beautiful old Nepali style building All staff were very attentive and helpful. Breakfast was good as was the Nepali espresso coffee. Rooftop restaurant was exceedingly pleasant with a great view plus able to experience a cool evening breeze after a hot day - the staff at the rooftop restaurant were just excellent. Menu and food at the rooftop restaurant was very good. Being so close to Patan Durbar Square means it is easy to visit both the square and the fantastic renovated palace turned into museum.

Breakfast, although good, never varied during the 6 days I stayed. There are a lot of stairs - and not always even - and to get to the roof top restaurant ( about 5 levels up) can be a bit of a struggle for older people (but this is to be expected as the hotel is situated in a genuinely old renovated building). The local dogs hovering near the hotel (not associated with the hotel) can be intimidating - the Hotel needs to attend to this.

An excellent small heritage hotel, very close to Patan Durbar Square. The rooms were comfortable, the staff were not only extremely polite but also very friendly, helpful and accommodating (thank you all for everything)! The rooftop restaurant was extremely pleasant with a great menu (a mixture of local and international cuisine), delicious Nepalese food (don't miss the dragon chicken) and a great view of Patan Durbar Square. The staff at the rooftop restaurant were also excellent. The whole atmosphere was authentically Nepali.

To me, it was like home in the heart of Patan Durban square. Everyone I met running the hotel was so kind and good fun to chat with! They were always ready and eager to help whenever I had any queries and really go the extra mile to see to the needs of all the hotel guests. They created a really warm and cozy atmosphere that big-brand luxury hotels simply lack. After a day out in Patan, it felt great to have a simple and clean room + bathroom to return to. Room facilities were great - esp the 2-pin bed-side sockets, air-con, comfy pillows and rain shower. This hotel also has an unpretentious rooftop bar where you can get a good view of the surrounding temples and just chill, watch the world go by. At night some of the temples are lighted up, the area becomes quieter and in that quietness one can contemplate on the history and way of life of ancient Patan, the gentle rain providing a respite from the heat of the monsoon. So glad to have found this gem.

Our stay at Pahan Chhen was the perfect beginning to our travels in Nepal. The breakfast/coffee and rooftop restaurant served excellent food and drinks. We stayed in the family suite on the 4th floor which has views over Patan Durbar Square and if you open the balcony door in the bedroom you may even see the Himalaya. A great spot away from the hustle of Kathmandu. The real star of this hotel is however the staff. They could not be more courteous and helpful. Thanks to Pushkar, Bhumi, Sibesh, Bipin, Suriman, Binita, Binod, Puja, and to the many others I have not mentioned who work here. We greatly appreciated your hospitality!

I booked a room for my god daughter, her husband and 8 year old son. They were very happy with the good sized room. They especially like the large shower and plentiful hot water. Breakfast was also very enjoyable and staff very attentive.

The only issue encountered were the neighbouring dogs outside the hotel. The young son was almost bitten by one of the dogs. These neighhood dogs need to be restrained or removed - if they actually do bite a guest this could be a big problem - unfortunately it was impossible to avoid the dogs as one has to walk past them to exit the hotel grounds.

Lovely authentic heritage building that is is a super convenient location at Durbar Square. Room facilities have been modernised and are comfortable and elegant . The rooftop area was wonderful with 360 degree views over whole area with the mountain ranges in the background. You really feel like you’re immersed in the everyday local life with interesting Alleyways and temples. ( Must see the Golden Temple a few streets away). Staff were warm and went sbove and beyond to assist us and accomodate our dietary needs. Dinner and cocktails were really good and extra special enjoyed under the stars on the rooftop.

The locks on the windows and balcony door were a little hard to open.

Excellent buffet breakfast. Clean room and bathroom. Good size for everything. Aircon and fan worked. Smiling and attentive staff. Nice rooftop terrace but not great views. Lovely staff member went to trouble of obtaining the local alcohol spirit and demonstrating traditional way of serving. Excellent location right on Square which made it convenient to see Square in evening and early morning before crowds. Very convenient to see excellent museum and local markets. As usual construction everywhere but this was all of Nepal!

Only being allowed one cup of tea or coffee with breakfast. You had to pay for the second cup! Don't do laundry here as they cannot tell you prices before hand and it turned out to be very expensive for small bundle of washing!

The location is very good, the rooms are comfortable and the roof terrace has an amazing view. The staff is extremely friendly and kind, always willing to help. To visit the surroundings of Kathmandu I highly recommend contacting Rajkumar our taxi driver who knows the area very well, and is extremely patient and very kind. Amazing place, location, and personal. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the magical atmosphere and genuine warmth we encountered. One of the highlights of our visit was the exceptional service the hotel's attentive staff provided. They consistently went above and beyond to meet our needs, anticipating our requests even before we could articulate them. Their genuine smiles, helpful nature, and eagerness to assist made us feel truly valued as guests. Everything was great!
