A night in the lovely Hotel Texas in Hallettsville. It’s a very good hotel. I wish it was less expensive lol. But I say that a lot these days as I’ve watched hotel prices escalate. But I had an enjoyable stay here. The exterior is done in central Texas limestone and has a wonderful Texas feel to it as does the lobby. The rooms are great and follow a Holiday Inn Express type format, making me wonder if maybe, the original designers had that in mind. So the layout of the room is one that you’ll be very familiar with. Everything works. In the bathroom, they’ve even thought out adding a bath mat to protect against slipping, something even some Holiday Inns don’t do. You know the ones. Where you have to put a towel down in the bathtub to protect yourself from slipping on the bathtub surface. But not here.The pillows are comfy such that I asked them where to buy them, but the bed is actually quite firm, almost too firm, which might be a dealbreaker for some but I found it to be just fine for one night. The swimming pool is larger than most and nice. Especially if you are traveling with kids. Outside, they have rocking chairs and porch swings for you to sit in and enjoy the evening air. The breakfast is quite good and they even have one of those waffle makers that makes waffles in the shape of Texas. I would stay here again. Right down the road is a Brookshire Brothers grocery store and a Walmart. A little bit further down is a Dairy Queen. A little bit further down is the center of Halletsville so it’s a pretty darn good location too.

Excellent location. Hotel was clean. The king bed was comfortable and hubby loved the pillows. The a/c and heat worked well. Hubby had it cold in the room. Bathroom was clean and interestingly they had push receptacles on the wall for soap and lotion and in the shower for shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Thought that was neat. Staff at front desk was very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was so good! Waffles, toast, potatoes, scrambled eggs, sausage links, country gravy, biscuits and so much more! Cook was very friendly and kept the food coming.

The only issue we had was the key card.. Worked to get in to the room just fine but would not work to get in to the hotel entrance where our room was located. Several times someone let us in because we could not get them to work. Since we only stayed one night not a big issue but if we had stayed longer would have certainly had to get it resolved.

Nice hotel setting, staff very friendly, daily breakfast great, ice and coffee available 24 hours. Refrigerator, microwave tv in room great for leftovers and all working.

Breakfast was good. Better than what we expected. Room was comfortable.

No bath soap in shower. Two shampoo's and a conditioner. Sink has the soap dispensers mislabeled... hand soap and hand lotion... mislabeled.

Honesty I left my phone charger in the room when i checked out and called later and they said they has it at the front desk.

Internet was down so booking took a little extra time, but it was not the Hotels fault.

The breakfast was tasty. There was a good variety and amounts of food items offered. The staff member providing the breakfast services was friendly and efficient. The ability to eat at the hotel (especially in a small town) before leaving for the day was really convenient!

Breakfast was very good. Nice area, good, clean. Manager gave a discount for inconvenience (lack of soap).

The dispensers for soap and hair conditioner in bathroom were empty. We’re given small bars of soap for washing hands. Bed was quite hard.

Everything was very clean from our room to the common areas (breakfast room, pool, etc.). The staff was over the top helpful, polite and accommodating, and the breakfast was delicious.

We have stayed here several times now, and they always exceed our expectations. Friendly staff, pet friendly and family friendly. Location is great and will be booking again soon!
