Staff was very friendly and made the extra effort to respond to requests quickly and efficiently. They were proactive in addressing potential issues. For example, when the lobby was very full and the wait for the elevators was long, they expedited guests getting access to the elevators quickly. We also really enjoyed the outdoor patio on the 15th floor, the complimentary ice cream, the nightly free ramen. Also having the 7-11 convenience store attached to the hotel made it easy and convenient to get needed supplies and snacks etc.
The rooms were very small and crowded - with the queen bed there was very little space left in room to maneuver - I understand that this is typical in Japanese hotel rooms but it made it challenging to relax in room without just getting in bed. There also was not sufficient space to store clothes during the stay so we ended up using the suitcases.

I was very happy with my stay. The Queen room, with double bed, was spacious, quiet, and the bed was comfortable. It had no daily cleaning which I liked, good for the environment, and was a little cheaper as a result. Breakfast was very good, with good choice. Free laundry washing, various ices, yakult drinks, drinks and coffees/teas, and ramen evening meal (I didn’t have), all make this an inviting hotel to stay in. For me the best part is the natural hot public bath facility, open through the night, on the top floor. This is an authentic Japanese experience that I really appreciate. A 7 Eleven store attached to the hotel adds to the convenience. The staff were always helpful and attentive to every need.

This was our first experience with Dormy Inn, and if they're all like this I know where we're staying next time. My husband and I loved the rooftop baths (and post-bath ice cream), the late-night ramen bar and the cute pajamas in our room. We made use of the laundry, pants press and vending machines, too — all easy to use and efficient — and there was even a helpful note from the staff on what time you could view sunrise and possibly Mt. Fuji from the top floor. (I made it! It was too cloudy 😭 ) Dormy Inn's Kawasaki location is also very centrally located — we were able to get toward Yokohama and Yokosuka or Tokyo with just a few minutes to the JR station. We ultimately paid a very reasonable fee for a late check-out, too. Overall, an exceptional experience that helped us recover after 1.5 weeks of constant traveling across Japan.
The location is not completely suited to "party at night in Tokyo." If you miss the last JR train to Kawasaki, a taxi from Shinjuku will cost about $100USD. 😅

The room was large enough (compared to what you may find in Tokyo) though the toilet/shower were a bit too small. The breakfast was good and there were lots of complimentary goods (Ramen after 9pm, the massage chairs, the ice cream after the hot spring..) The hotel is quite away from the center, which turned out to be a good thing - quiet, not many tourists, and lots of little restaurants, cafes and bars around. Staff was welcoming and helpful.
My only suggestion is - if guests arrive earlier than the check in time (which is 3pm) it's better to check them in immediately, even though the room is still not available, instead of making everybody wait till 3pm and then create a waiting line to be checked in.

Open air onsen, sauna with aroma and TV and free massage chairs were awesome. Free ramen at night was a great snack! Free ice creams after onsen, yakult in the morning were also very welcome. My days were packed with other activities, but I wish I had a whole day just to stay at the hotel and not go anywhere. Mt. Fuji view as a bonus. The rooms are not very big by Western standards, but compared to some other hotels and properties in Japan are spacious enough. Rooms in Dormy inn hotels in Tokyo are smaller. Kawasaki is 30-40 minutes by train from Tokyo and for me it was a good trade-off to get bigger rooms and a bit cheaper stay.
Sometimes wifi was a little slow in the rooms. Maybe because of the amount of guests or time of the day.

We used the hotel as a base to visit Tokyo, Hakone, Kamakura etc. It is a 10 minutes walk from the train station and there is a 7-Eleven right at the hotel lobby. Lot of food option and also a Don Quijote within walking distance. There are free drinks, ice cream, and noodles daily included in the stay. Highly recommend getting their breakfast buffet at least once as the selection and taste is amazing! The bath is clean and comfortable and we look forward to visiting everyday. Washing machine is free but dryer costs 100 yen.
The room is pretty small and no frills but it is clean and the other amenities makes it worth every dollar spent. We look forward to visiting again when we are in Japan :)

This hotel seems to be an upscale business hotel. The room does not have closet and compact but not too small like Apa hotel chain. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. They offer many selection of great foods. Additional service included evening snack of ramen at 9:30pm. I didn’t try it as it was late of night to eat for me, but many Japanese people were there at 9:30-must be good. The laundry facilities were free to wash but 100yen to dry. While waiting for my laundry, I used the massage chair that was free. I loved all amenities there
It took 10 minutes to walk from the JR train station. It was a quiet street during the daytime but not the night time. There were lots of drinking places izakaya, karaoke place, restaurants, and their patrons on the way to the hotel from the station. Although it is very safe in Japan, I decided to come back to the hotel before 9 pm to avoid these crowds of drunken people.

The Dormy Inn, a quintessential Japanese hotel chain, has a winning formula: allow guests to roam around the building in the provided pajamas and add an excellent Onsen (= hot springs), a rich breakfast, free soup in the evening, and a variety of other extras. The other good thing is that once you stayed in one Dormy Inn, it is easy to find your way around the next one. The hotel is also quite well situated, just about 10 minutes walking distance from the station. The drawback during our visit was its very popularity: Being completely booked led to lines almost everywhere, at the soup, in front of the elevators, and generally too much pressure on the central resources, which did not scale quite proportionally with the number of people. This leads to a feeling of "mass production" with disposable plastic plates and spoons, locks on drink dispensers at certain times, and so forth, which other Dormy Inns we stayed in (e.g., the Dormy Inn Express near Mount Fuji) did not have.
There should be two towels per person, since after an Onsen session one towel is usually completely spent.

Beautifully presented hotel. Modern, luxurious, clean, pristine facilities, exceptional value considering the costs. Huge rooms, fully serviced, & it provided the niceties you expect in a highly rated accommodation. Clean everything, we like firm pillows & mattresses so that worked for us. Seperate toilet and shower, seperate sink & especially roomy for a Tokyo hotel room. Professional, helpful & warm staff, smiled & acknowledged us every single time we passed by reception. The staff also went above and beyond assisting us like requesting extra towels, & when I needed to forward luggage to our next hotel the young porter arranged it all from start to end. I won’t stay anywhere else the next time we are visiting Japan, Tēnā ra koe e te whanau, arohanui kia koutou, Joyce & Thomas Kirk.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

I liked that it was a straight line from thr station, staff were friendly and helpful, lots of free stuff, including drinks and ice cream after hot spring and free ramen at night. The hot spring and free massage chair was good as well. The library would be good if I could read in Japanese.. It was close to a few places I was interested in too.
Just me being picky, no-one travelling should care about video on demand but it's nice to unwind with one, not a great selection plus not free but guess counteract all the other free stuff you do get
