We stayed at Shankara Hotel with our family and it truly felt like a little piece of paradise! Just 10 minutes walking from Borobudur temple! Our bungalow was lovely, cozy, and well-equipped, with a small pond full of fish that delighted our children. The view over the pool was perfect, and the separate shallow water area made it an ideal and safe space for our little ones to play and have fun. But what truly makes this place unforgettable is the incredible staff. During our stay, we went through a difficult time due to a hospital emergency, and the support we received was simply exceptional. A heartfelt thank you to Ayi, Calandra, all the receptionists, and the entire team for taking such wonderful care of me and my daughters during such a delicate moment. Their kindness, empathy, and attention went far beyond what we could have hoped for. Every morning we were welcomed with a rich, varied, and delicious breakfast, the perfect way to start each day with a smile. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Shankara, for making us feel so welcomed, supported, and cared for — just like family. We will definitely be back!

I liked everything from the moment l arrived. I had read some of the reviews and hesitated to book but l absolutely loved the hotel. It is on the main road but l had a perfect sleep, l had a room with garden view and it was excellent, spacious with dresser wardrobe kettle nice lighting and a big nice bathroom. I enjoyed the pool so much. I felt like l was on a vacation because the garden gives a vibe of a tropical setting. The staff is so sweet, too.

I stayed only one night :(

The pool looked clean but we didn't use it. The breakfast was good - lots of fruits, eggs, sausages + Asian options. The room was huge , clean and comfy, lots of electrical outlets to plug in our chargers. Easy walk to Borobudur and restaurants. Grab drivers knew where it was located. The lounge area near the pool was nice. We thought we were the only Western tourists staying at the hotel when we were there. The staff was superb and very accommodating.

We couldn't think of anything. The price was on the high side but it was good deal considering it was a busy time of the year.

Location was great. 7 minute walk to the temple. Rooms are clean & spacious. Ac works fine. Pool is clean and nice. NIce common areas to sit around in the evening. We didnt have any major meal at the hotel. Had breakfast which was ok. Nothing great but basic and pretty ok. There is a coffee shop right next to it and a place called Benoa Resto which is very reasonable and great food. The staff are polite, courteous and helpful.

The only issue was we went during EID and there are two mosques close by which had prayers all through the night. Yes, throughout the night. The hotel should scope for earbuds or other ways by which non muslims tourists can enjoy their sleep (considering there is a Buddhist temple - there must be a lot of visitors from other faiths)

Everything is good enough for us, pool is great, room comfy, staff is very helpfull and friendly. Breakfast is quite tasty. The temple is 5-7 minutes walk from hotel, many eating places around the hotel. Alfamart(minimarket) is 4 minutes walking distance. Wifi also good. We easily ordering VW tour from the hotel which turned out very enjoyable. We had a good 3 nights there

Very friendly and helpfull staff. Withing walking distance from the Borobudur temple.

Ouside AC unit was blowing hot air into the toilet/bath area. This made visiting the bathroom a bit stressful. Like visiting sauna when entering the bathroom and going to freezer when going back to the main room.

Staff were so happy and helpful, and constant smiles were a joy to see. Food is very good and traditional. Rooms and pool were perfect. (Bathrooms maby a little tired but I can't complain). Lovely frog chorus with a beer in the pagoda ends the night perfectly.

Room are clean and have big bathroom, need to be more clean on bathroom will make perfect and maintenance on every lamp on the room before the guess come in. Overall good and the pool are perfect !! thanks

I love all : the pool, the breakfast and room. Only the cleanliness and maintenance the hotel needs to improve a little bit. Mba Kristin at the reception has been so loveable to fullfill our request.
