We liked that they had bicycles on property for you to borrow. The first 3 hrs. of use are complimentary. The two pools were fine (regular pool, no slides). There was laundry facility on site which was so great. The beach is a block away (we did not go to the beach as this was the tail end of our time on Maui since we were in Kaanapali earlier in the week). The best part was the bed!!! I love a firm mattress and it was so nice to have that. The room also had a larger size mini fridge and a microwave!!!! The location was close to a bunch of stores and restuarants.

The bathroom was sort of small and when you open the door, it almost touches the toilet. Although the room was slightly dated, it was fine since we didn't spend so much time not in the room. The laundry room probably needs instructions as the washing machine was a top loader and I think people didn't know how to use it. For a generic top loader with an agitator, you dump the laundry detergent in the machine loosely before loading clothes. It seemed that everyone got confused and dumped the detergent into the fabric softener dispenser which was compacted with laundry detergent.

There was no breakfast included, We did not eat at the restaurant other than pool area. pool area food was great, service was very good. Drinks were ok. There is a great food truck village down the street about a 1/2 mile. Best food on the island. You need to stay in the new tower. Kai Tower, Very nice, the other tower has no view and dated.

That they didn't have beach chairs for guests to use. That would be nice.

We really liked the room amenities, the bed, the location, the laundry room, the pool, the staff, the shady lanai !! We also loved the water bottles and stations. The decor and furnishings were lovely.

We didn't like the construction noise although not a huge inconvenience. We didn't like our meal at the Hano Hano bar - the fish was very dry. The currency exchange rate on our Canadian money was quite high which made expenses higher. But the cost of items on Maui was shocking.

Big recommendation: Book the Kai rooms! I read it in the reviews here and can only repeat this. The Kai rooms are in a brand new building, super new and nice in terms of design and comfort. The hotel in general seemed very nice and I don't know what the older rooms are like, but the Kai King was great! Hotel staff was super friendly and welcoming. There's a nice pool area with a bar attached and live music on the weekend, which we enjoyed. Only caveat, they close to early :D There's plenty of parking available as well and the location is nice. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed.

Nothing that comes to mind! Of course it is expensive, but that seems to be normal on Maui and all over Hawaii.

Food was good however, wait staff around pool area wasn't that great. The area was very windy in the afternoons but the property was very nice and clean. loved that they had free laundry rooms on every floor you could use. We walked to a nice coffee place in the morning and strolled the beach. Location was close to the Maui Gardens which was a very nice and fun location with the family. Great food and entertainment.

more attentiveness with Wait staff around the pool area. Went to bar to order they said i couldn't order from them unless i sat there which i couldn't because we had kids. So we were told to wait for someone to approach us and no one did, so we went and asked someone and they seemed confused and didn't think they were responsible for serving us but finally a nice server helped us out for the rest of the day.

The hotel is fully renovated, located in one of the best and strategic location of the island and to visit it. Actually is more than a 3 stars hotel, is 100% a 4 stars superior for all the facilities they provide.

I liked everything. Maybe they should try to keep open the gift shop for more hours until the evening, and also the offer of the bar/restaurant should be intensified with various food and beverage.

Everything! I am a world traveler and can distinguish between fine resorts, 5* hotels to Air B&Bs. Due to a last minute and late arrival into Maui we needed to find a good location for my wife and daughter. Have used this property many years ago and the property still keeps the charm and quality and security too! This was a sure location to be without reading the reviews. Great staff, beaches a step away, restaurants, cafes, etc; We did our morning walk at the shores before touring the island, and view the sunset too. If you can do it, go for it. Remember is a hotel not an apartment, but again, worth it.

Missing a kitchen sink.

We really loved the room. It was spacious, modern, smelled good, and was clean—except for a bit of dust on the bathroom shelves. The shower was large and luxurious. The hotel staff were kind and helpful, except for the people at breakfast. Also the location was great.

There was a strong and unpleasant smell of chlorine throughout the hotel, except in the rooms. The breakfast was nothing short of disappointing, and the waitress wasn’t nice to us at all.

We staywd in a new tower but even everything else seemed renovated or very well maintained. Everything was very tidy, clean and staff was super nice and friendly. Shortly.. hotel was great but food not so much. We liked drinks in the pool bar ( they could use better plastic cups or regular glassware tho) but quality and style of food was far behind the rest :)

Food and styling of drinks at the bar. It was a big contrast to the rest of services which were “Fairmont quality”.
