The staff were all great, we had a bite in the Dive Bar before we went to the Boardwalk theater and it was fine; nothing special but fine (we just had soup and the very generous artichoke dip.) The view is lovely on the river. Afterwards we came back and had a drink in the Prohibition room, which was beautifully decorated for Halloween - very classy. Wait staff was great. Took our drink back to the Dive to watch the end of the football game.

Our room was well appointed and very clean, with a great view of the river. but very small, reminded us of a cruise ship room. This was disappointing considering the price. However, the pretty cathedral ceiling helped a lot. We were surprised there is no breakfast available; there is coffee service in the lobby.

Love the location - walkable to nearby parks, shops and restaurants with live entertainment on some days, beautiful views of the river from the deck, nice pool and hot tub. When the restaurant and pub are open, it's very convenient. The staff is friendly. Hotel is pretty. Complimentary continental breakfast is included. You might want to check the website to see if the restaurant and pub will be open during your stay. We didn't and were disappointed that it was closed Sunday evening and Monday but that is no fault of the Inn, we just didn't think to check that before our stay. It seems like it's common in that area to close restaurants and some shops on Monday.

If I could change one thing it would be that we were on a higher floor with a bigger room. We did have a partial river view but it was mostly the roof that we were looking at.

The room was perfect, I wasn't walking well and my room was easy to get around from such as to my car. Having the shower was perfect for someone in my condition.

I didn't know until arriving that St Clair Inn restaurant wasn't open. Fast food in the area was plentiful but unique restaurants were not open. The fancier restaurant that was open has stairs and is not handicapped accessible. Many of the places were closed other than for alcohol consumption. As a result I ate at Burger King and enjoyed the scenery from my room that was spectacular. The grocery store in the area is very nice and it has a small diner there. I will be returning to the hotel again but am in hopes of better choices for restaurants next time.

Pretty venue for wedding. Our room was small but adequate. The bed was very comfortable and room was clean.

The shower was tiny in our room. We were guests at the wedding at this hotel. Air conditioning broke in wedding reception and wedding reception room was very hot. Food was served very late. Our first course, soup, was served 1.5 hours before entree. Some guests did not get their food until nearly 9pm. Guests were hot and hungry. Room too hot to dance.. I think that caused fewer people to dance. Not sure if this is place to comment on wedding reception but thought I would include to help brides who may be considering for their wedding.

It is so gorgeous! Right on the river. Bar on the premises. Breakfast presentation was just super nice. We really enjoyed everything about the property! I loved our cozy little room, it felt well appointed and just a little nicer maybe a little cleaner than most. Super nice place. The morning staff were friendly accommodating and gave us good recommendations for our visit to the area. We’d definitely stay again!

I have bad knees so hauling bags upstairs was a bit of a chore. A group of young men were heading up the stairs and saw my struggle, grabbed my bags, set them down at the top and were merrily on their way. Problem solved!

The room was small, but very comfortable and clean. The Dive Bar has floor to ceiling windows right on the St. Clair River, and we were able to relax and watch the passing ships. We had a charcuterie board on Saturday afternoon and a very good breakfast on Sunday morning. The prices are very reasonable. Don't be confused by the "brunch" signs in the lobby (they use that because of the 8am to 2pm timeframe). Their menu has many breakfast choices. There is also a free continental breakfast, but we did not see that to be able to comment on it. There are decks and walkways along the river (too cold and rainy during our stay).

We were lucky and were able to park not far from the door when we arrived and when returning from an off-site event. There was a wedding reception in the hotel, and some people had to park across the road.

I very much appreciated the free breakfast, and liked the pastries & oj, I loved the view, I loved the hotel grounds, I took walks on the hotel grounds and down the street at the mini downtown, I liked the mini downtown.

Altho i liked the free breakfast i would've preferred everything to be covered up, not open. I had to talk to my phone service to get reception in my room, couldn't always use my phone, internet etc. I heard someone snoring in the next room overnight, but that was bearable.

View was beautiful, clean and the pool and hot tub were an added bonus

The rooms on booking site are not the rooms we received. There is not an elevator to the third floor, this is not indicated in the booking. We traveled with two elderly individuals that could not climb the steep stairs. We were supposed to have two king beds for six travelers (2 being children). We ended up with a queen bed and king, neither were big enough for a chair, the rooms did not accommodate our party size.

Beautiful room with view of the river, including a large deck that gave us outside access from our room (neighboring room has access too). Loved the nice new looking shower. Also enjoyed style of door/windows for river view. The room was small but clean and stylish. Pastries, yogurt, fruit, coffee/tea, and juice are available until 10 am. Nice touch was the fireplace in that area, and again, the river view seating.

It wasn't a huge deal, but we could easily hear people talking from another room. It could be annoying depending on your neighbors volume.

This is a beautiful hotel. Expertly clean, a breathtaking view of the lake, and staff that takes pride in what they do. Each interaction with the staff here was kind, helpful, and they smiled and looked you in the eye. They truly cared about my experience. On booking.com it was not showing there to be a mini fridge in the room. I almost did not book it because I have medicine that needs refrigeration. I took the chance figuring they could help me with a solution. There is a mini fridge in the room The extra bonus was fresh, house made pastry in the morning.

Parking at the hotel proper can be challenging. They have an extra lot across the street to help. The road is just busy. There really is not a solution unless they get rid of the building for a parking lot, it's too beautiful for that. This is just a minor inconvenience.
