The location next to the ski lift - truly ski in ski out. There was a great little area for the children to play in that had a magic carpet (free, no lift pass required). The family room was tight but comfortable for the 4 of us, especially when we realised you can pull the bed away from the wall and widen the size of the single beds. The onsen was really nice and clean. In the female change room there were a number of washing machines, which I never had to line up for. The breakfast was good, and the room where it is served has the most amazing view of the snow. There is free parking, and the hotel will lend out ice scrapers and shovels to guests if you need.

The property needs an update. It looks really tired. As per the other reviews there is a lack of dining options onsite, and what is there is relatively expensive.

Buffet breakfast included. Location was 50m from the first lift. Staff were always ready to help.

The ski hire shop was pretty average. They asked for our details and then provided my wife and and I with the exact same board, even though we are very different levels. The bindings had been set the same, even though we requested different settings. No option to get a performance board, and the snow was deep enough to warrant them. One of the boards was returned as it wasn't the correct size, and the replacement (correct at 7cm shorter) had such little wax on it that it was sticking to the snow.

We stayed in a quad room which looked small but worked very well with two plastic containers under each bed for clothes storage, plus hanging space. The locker downstairs (personal one for your room) for ski equipment was great, although we had 3 sets of skis and a snowboard whereas 4 snowboards might not all fit. Ski in/out!

Limited options for food purchase. There is a small shop with basics (chocolate/ drinks/ noodles - add hot water). The Ramen bar next to Prince Hotel West was great value for money and has a fun atmosphere thanks to the staff.

It’s large, has a large dining area, has an in house onsen, has a room that sleeps for 4 for mid budget traveller. Do not expect your typical 3-5 star accommodation you go to in other cities. This is a ski resort. This to me is definitely ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ compared to other local Japanese hotels at ski resort. A lot of the local ski Japanese hotel are dated (I guess they do not have enough of patrons throughout the year to sustain them as you can spot many abandon hotels adjacent to ski resorts). They can also arrange for your bags to be delivered anywhere in Japan

They don’t clean your room everyday but you can pick up additional towels from the front desk.

We liked that the ski shop was in the lobby, and you could just walk out to the gondola/slopes. We loved the onsen for soaking in after a day of skiing. The rooms were small but comfortable.

Dining facilities--not many options, and fairly $$. My brothers also booked at Shiga Kogen, and they were in another building--we weren't aware until we arrived--and it's not possible to walk between buildings! We had to take a shuttle bus to get together. There's no place to hang out in the lobby--there is a lounge/bar but you can't bring in outside food or drink.

Nice and confortable room for a family. Easy access to ski slopes from the hotel. All hotel staff were kind and helpful. Cleaning services were appropriate.

The only restaurant in the East Wing is way too expensive, there are better options in other wings. Ski rental in the East Wing was limited in choice and support. The West Wing seemed better equipped and organized. Hotel shuttle availability was limited at midday, making it difficult to reach the International Ski School before the end of the session.

Ski in/out was great and the rooms are functional noting it is circa 1998 athelete rooms with single bench beds

A bit captive here as the location is a bit isolated and you rely on the transfer bus to get to Ichinose village which has very limited dining options Also the the hotel western breakfast was under whelming as it is a large hotel and on the pricey side. Premium ski rental was very limited so defintely check they have the gear first before comittng to premium option.

Love the ski in and ski out. Great it has its own pro shop, onsen, bar, banquet hall, ski locker and tuck shop. Staff was great and helpful.

Nothing much to complain about except some guest etiquette. Examples ranges from no shoes in onsen area and some lazy guest rushed in with their shoes as oppose to going to their own room or the toilet next to the ski lockers. Or you find some people rushing to grab food when there is an abundant of endless supply of food.

The hot food in bain-marie at both breakfast and Buffett Dinner was cold. Hot food was not hot or even warm. Lunch options were great Would have liked bedding option having a top sheet, doona was very warm even when heat in room turned off.

Highly recommend the buffet dinner - it comes with a main, which was sea bass and steak sirloin when we were there march 2025. Although a bit pricier than normal hotel buffets, it definitely exceeded our expectations. The ambience surrounding the full glass dining room was amazing which added to the whole experience. The staff were also very friendly and helpful at the dinner at Shiga Prince Hotel East.
