The hotel is elegantly furnished with lots of open interior spaces. The gardens are well maintained and although small, the swimming pool was a great place to cool down. The hotel is in the perfect location for walking into town and the port. The staff were very helpful giving us a map of the area and pointing out places of interest. They also printed off the timetable for the ferries to Cadiz.

The lack of restaurant facilities in the evening was really disappointing as we had contacted the hotel beforehand and were assured that it would be open, The price for breakfast was very high…20 euros per person. This was much more than in comparable hotels.

This hotel had a beautiful and unique style. it’s a five minute walk from the train station which was perfect for me as I’d just travelled from Seville so city to beach was super fast. what made this a great hotel were the friendly and helpful reception staff, they helped me to get back to the hotel when I was in the port and needed a taxi, they recommended a lovely beach and I was grateful for their communication in English as my Spanish was not great.

I wish the pool and sun loungers had been clean. April May be out of summer season for locals but at 25 degrees coming from the UK this is pool weather!

Beautiful romantic hotel that includes very easy to negotiate parking (rare in Spain). A perfect getaway for honeymooners -- with great access to Cadiz and Jerez.

The town, El Puerto de Santa Maria does not have the history or charm of the great cities of Andalusia -- Seville, Cordoba or Granada. But it does have wonderful restaurants. Los Portales was exceptional both in the fine dining and great value. Do NOT forget to finish your meal with a Pedro Ximenez sherry.

The hotel is in a great location on the edge of the old town so you can walk to everything including the ferry to Cadiz. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere. There is parking, a beautiful garden, a smallish swimming pool and the beaches are close by. We asked for a quiet room and were given a lovely large room away from the road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and the whole area.

The breakfast is 30 euros per person. There are plenty of other options in the town

The room was spacious, quiet, overviewing the garden and swimming pool. It had a large king size bed, very confortable. The continental breakfast was good, and outside by the garden. The garden is of medium size but with a variety of trees, almost kind of a subtropical atmosphere. The Hotel is interesting, well preserved, an ancient manor with large interior hall, wood panell decorated.

Nothing of note to improve. Good cost/quality ratio.

Superb hotel with very efficient friendly staff. The “Old fashion” furnishings may not be to everyone’s taste but we thoroughly enjoyed the feel of the place. Private secure parking was also a bonus. Lots of small bars and restaurants within walking distance.

The room and hotel were excellent, very clean and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, restaurant food was good and value for money. We couldn't have expected more. Lots to do in the area.

The two receptionists were outstanding - really friendly, welcoming and helpful, perfect ambassadors for the hotel. Dinner on the restaurant terrace was exquisite with a lovely view of the beautiful garden. Breakfast on the terrace was individually prepared for us and delicious. The waiter was highly professional and accommodating. We used the secure parking of the hotel at no extra charge. Our room was very comfortable with a nice view. Our bathroom was modern and worked well. The reception areas of the hotel were fabulous, historic, really impressive. A wonderful experience - we can’t wait to come back.

An unforgettable stay in a hotel that was a former palace. This time of year is ideal to visit that area with sunny days and cool nights. Although they had just opened after the Covid pandemic and the facilities were not 100 percent, the staff made up for any possible shortfalls with great kindness.

Relaxing oasis. Attentive professional warm staff. Great parking. Good restaurant.

With a garden pool and fountains you might need insect repellent depending on the time of the year.
