We stayed here as a portion of our honeymoon, and could not have been more thrilled. It was truly a unique experience to stay in a Castle atop a hill, and it was a quick drive to nearby towns like Assisi or Loreto. The staff was so lovely, and we loved the restaurant, the barista lady at the bar, and the gentleman who helped us check in and spoke English.
We got lost leaving the castle one day driving down the hill because google maps took us on a dirt road, and it was stressful to drive down that road. But it was all fine and worked out, and if anything, left us some crazy memories to look back on. In retrospect, I believe this is why the manager wanted us to follow him to drive up to the castle, so he could show us the proper roads to take, but I didn't realize.

The room was enormous with a gorgeous fresco above the bed that we were told was original from 1500! There was a mini kitchen where we were able to cook some asparagus to go with our salad, prosciutto, and cheese. The kitchen was well stocked for the space! They even had good olive oil, balsamic vinegar, plates, glasses, and silverware. Our castle room had great views out over the valley, and the heating was excellent for such a large space! The bathroom was very modern and nice! The ride up to the castle and down to the restaurant for breakfast was well worth the trip for us!

The location is beautiful, and it's a charming experience to stay in a rural castle! Our room was spacious, and it was amazing to walk all around the other restored buildings within the walls and along the dirt road around the outside of the castle wall. The way there is quite good for a back road, and there are amazing vistas of the castle set in the mountainside.
Because we were there during the spring off-season, the restaurant and other facilities were not open, and we had to drive into town for breakfast which was okay for us since we only stayed for one night, but i do think that should be made clear when booking is done. Also, reception was closed when we arrived, and no instructions had been sent about where to park. (Any car bigger than a Fiat Panda will not fit through the width of the entry arch in the walls, and with it, we had to push the mirrors in to get through to drop off our luggage.)

A lovely location and, as seen online, a very large room with a very comfortable bed, comfortable chairs and views over the valley far below. The accommodation is directly opposite an old church - the surroundings are beautiful. I can imagine how lovely it would be there in the summer (I was there in the winter). A steep road up to the castello, and slightly tricky parking; however, this is manageable if you are driving a small car and used to negotiating tiny roads. An offer of a free pizza - given that nobody was available to meet me when I arrived - was much appreciated; however, I had already bought basic groceries in the village below. Breakfast, in a caffe in Clitunno, was very nice.
I had indicated on this booking site that I would arrive at the time when the space became available. I arrived on time and could not find anyone at all - and no answers to my calls. After about 10 minutes of trying, someone answered the phone; I had to wait 30 minutes while a young woman drove up from the valley to give me the keys and let me in. Luckily - although it was winter - it was a sunny day and I could sit on the steps outside the lovely old church and wait. So, not the end of the world. Just, perhaps, be clear about your arrival time. It is a wonderful location and, presumably, during the season everything is open. Very friendly young woman who gave me the keys...finally.

The location in the castle is amazing and the room has really kept its charm. The owner communicated efficiently and was very welcoming. The nearby restaurant/hotel bar is a big plus as it allowed us to have a few drinks without needing to drive, and amazing views.
The breakfast and check in was about 12min drive which was a surprise and not convenient.

We loved the setting....a beautiful old medieval castle that was converted into a dozen or so dwellings. One feels transported back in time when walking on the grounds, the Jasmin fills the air, and the birds are chirping.
Nothing to dislike. As long as you don't mind driving 3-4km away from civilization!

It was a bit disappointing that we were asked to take breakfast in the evening and one of the sandwiches we took was not fresh.

Such a beautiful borgo on a hill and beautiful apartments combining style, tradition and luxury. Unforgettable views
Maybe our apartment was a bit dark due to the architecture style and its location on ground floor but everything was great

The apartment was very clean, comfortable and beautiful views. The location was great only 100m from the Way of St. Francis as we were walking. Alessio was fabulous, he even delivered us pizza!

Wonderful location
The air conditioning didn’t work on the first night, but the owners put a mobile cooling unit in, so that helped a lot, even though it was rather noisy
