If you're looking for a comfortable and clean motel room for a night or two, Sturt Motel certainly fits the bill. Our room was spacious with sofa, TV, microwave and other equipment. Everything we could possibly need was was provided - teas/coffees and other drinks, milk and cold water in the fridge, plenty of shower shampoos/conditioners/body creams etc. The room had air conditioning which was easy to manage. The bed was comfortable. Bedding and towels were good quality. We were welcomed on checking in and helped with information and advice on where to get dinner (the RSL club has a good menu of Asian and Australian dishes).

The room and bedside lighting is a bit harsh! The milk for teas and coffee was a bit sour, but this was a minor issue.

The ease of check in, the contact beforehand, all traveller ends catered for : nice bathroom, good shower, good fridge, lovely towels , good bed an small dining table and great parking out side the unit. The club the owner recommended was excellent and was an easy walk as was the supermarket in a very pleasant country town.

Balranald is a small town on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. We stayed here as a base to travel daily the 150 KMs up to Mungo National Park. Sturt Motel was well patronised over our 4 night stay and is centrally located in Balranald town centre, an easy walk to all shops and eateries. The Motel is typical 1970's style single level motel units. Our unit was clean, with a queen sized bed, ample bathroom, good TV and internet. The room was suitable for our needs and we enjoyed our stay

Nothing disappointed us.

It is centrally located. Everything is clean and there's everything you need for a comfortable motel stay. We couldn't make it to the motel on the date booked as we needed to have a tyre replaced. Although i booked a non refundable/changeable room, the management was kind enough to change the date for us without extra charge. Thank you so much for that.

Really there is nothing to complain about.

The location was great and very quiet away from the main street. Also close to the excellent H&J Bistro at the Balranald club (400 metre walk). The owners/staff are lovely and were very welcoming and helpful. It was very hot that day but the Aircon worked well. The room was clean and comfortable and had all the amenities anyone would need. The shower was good and the bed was comfortable.

Very convenient but back a bit from the very busy Sturt Highway so very little noise, making for a restful sleep. Also short walk to Murrumbidgee river and pedestrian suspension bridge to a lovely evening stroll through the bush! A great way to wind down from long drive.

There was nothing that we didn’t like.

Spotlessly clean!! Hot shower, soft lovely towels. Great location for access to river and local shops and restaurants.

Bed was a little hard but still a good place to stay. Shower head could do with a descale. The motel is obviously better than some other accommodations in the town and we would stay again. Note on Balranald as a town: being a country town there is little food wise that can cater to food intolerances/allergies/celiac so may be best to bring your own food in that case. Also was surprised that the Discovery cafe which looked great online, was closed over the end of year season. The town seemed entirely booked out, teeming with people, and it could have been a good money spinner for the owners, let alone a different option for travellers.

Stayed 3 nights and loved it. Located within easy walking distance of shops and adjacent to the footbridge leading to the river walk. Host was very obliging - happy to provide whatever we asked. Enjoyed the barbecue on 2 nights. A perfect place from which to take a tour to Lake Mungo National Park. Excellent!

Just off the highway but we didn’t find the truck noises a problem. Warm friendly greeting upon arrival with everything ready. Everything you need for your overnight stay.

A little dated but clean and comfortable.

The room was brilliant. The bathroom and shower were very spacious. Bed was comfortable. The room had little things you may need that you would not think of. The staff were very accommodating. Friendly, always smiling, and very patient. I will definitely stay here again. Murrumbidgee River across the road.
