Great place to stay in Freyburg if you have a car or a bicycle. About 30 minutes walk from the centre of town (past vineyards) and about 15 minutes uphill walk to the castle. The hotel has a good view from the restaurant terrace down onto vineyards. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were fine. The restaurant has a good balanced range of fresh food and a decent selection of local wines. The outdoor terrace is a great place to sit on a sunny day. The breakfast buffet offers a good spread of choices.

Very nice location, beautiful view, quiet, relaxed. Nice balcony and very good service at the desk.
In the restaurant the waiter was VERY busy, an twice forgot our order, so the last glass of wine, we never got (after waiting for 25 minutes).

Nice and clean hotel. Very good breakfast. Beautiful outdoor dining terrace overlooking the vineyards.
Restaurant is somewhat pricey. A long and bumpy road leads to the hotel. No playground for the kids.

I left before breakfast to get to Berlin. The food for dinner was just okay. The spot was romantic, but I was alone. I liked being able to see a vineyard up close.
No one was at the desk when I arrived. The young woman who came up from the restaurant to check me in did not speak English (I looked for places that spoke both English and German) and she seemed a bit over her head in her position.
