I want to start by saying that our (my travel partner and I) impression of this place is far better than what we expected after reading the sadly bad reviews Club Tara has gotten, so we want to try to leave an as accurate review as possible to help future travelers. What I think is good to have in mind is the following: - The price you pay is good (quite affordable) - It is spacious, CLEAN overwater villas (hard to find something like it in the same price category) - If you compare to Maldvies for example where it easily cost 500-1000$ a night or more yes you will find the facilities run down and might get dissappointed (they could use some renovation, which I think slowly is ongoing) - The location is immaculate, you are in a tropical paradise with turquoise and emerald green lagoons all to yourself (and other guests of course) to play around in (kayaks available, though they are also old they are still functionable) - The service: staff here, as I can read from others as well, they do everything to make sure your stay is perfect, I couldn't ask for more. They welcomed us so warmly and also waved us goodbye like family members, and catered for vegan food as best they could as well as other requests we had - The jacuzzi: don't expect too much of this, but is there and they do fill it up on request if you want a foamy bath with perfect views (just ask for it) - The food: very good and affordable, and perhaps things have gotten better in terms of waiting (some wrote they waited an hour) as we always were served shortly after ordering - The pool: we didn't use this as we were always in the lagoon We had 3 lovely days here, and I could easily live with a little rundown villas to explore something like this - and really, it is not that bad, on the inside they are clean and nice, and big windows to enjoy views of the lagoons. They also arranged transfers to and from the airport/mainland, just let them know in advance.
It is a bit run down - so just don't expect top luxury, but you are as mentioned in paradisiac surroundings, and it is clean and comfortable with good service. WiFi is so-so if that is important, but it wasn't for us. From a backpackers angle it was really good value for money

Our stay in Club Tara was amazing! I loved waking up in the morning and seeing the beautiful view of the cove from our balcony. I booked Club Tara despite the negative reviews because I knew what was important to me as a traveler and that’s a great view and great location. This is the best jump-off point to do the Sohoton Cove Tour because it’s just a short boat ride away (as compared to a 2-hr boat ride if you were coming from Siargao’s main island). Lastly, the service was fantastic thanks to Liwanie, she was the warmest and most accommodating amongst all the staff. She made our stay very pleasant and we can see that she was very hardworking. I hope the management reads this because she really deserves some recognition. Overall, the price is very cheap since it’s a 3-star resort, but given the stunning views from the balcony and the great location, I would say it offers a GREAT value for your money!
1. The kayaks were very old and dilapidated. Please invest in new kayaks. 2. There is no wifi in the rooms (this did not bother me much coz I can enjoy my vacation with a good book. If you need Netflix in your life even on vacation, then just download episodes to your phone before the trip) Despite these, I still strongly recommend that you stay here for a couple of nights. Come here knowing it’s an old 3-star resort but with unbeatable views and a stone’s throw away from Sohoton Cove.

The place is awesome. The location is really beautiful and the bath tub looking out is very special. The food is fairly affordable and tastes good. We really enjoyed our time here but need to adjust expectations
Overall it is a nice place to stay but doesn’t feel like a resort. The wait for food is at least an hour, the room isn’t necessarily perfect and sometimes you don’t feel like a priority with staff. It has heaps of potential

Club Tara is not that bad. Don’t believe in the worst reviews given by the other guests. First, it is not a five-star resort, don’t expect much in the facilities. There is an ongoing renovation during our visit, so expect improvements soon. The resort has comfortable rooms where you can see the beauty of nature and a jacuzzi in each room. Their staff members are amiable, accommodating, and helpful. A special mention to Bonga. She was such a darling to us. You will not regret having her with you during your meal time. The foods we ordered were excellent. They have a good cook there. The place is remote, so expect a bad mobile internet connection. But that will be the best time to unwind. Their location is perfect if you want to escape the noise and stress of the city. Just use their free surfboard or kayak because there are many places to explore. There is a part where it feels like you are in the middle of the jungle. It’s total bliss and peaceful out there. Overall, we enjoyed our three-night stay at the resort. It’s worth the money.
For coffee lovers, better to bring your bag of beans or coffee makers if you are not a fan of instant coffee. Bring your water tumbler too. The water is only available at the restaurant. Light snacks are not available specially if you like chips.

This is a wonderful little resort. Yes, the facilities are a bit rundown due the typhoons and earthquake happened here not to long ago, but the staff is amazing, and the location is unbeatable!!! Fantastic!!!! If you stay here, go to Sohoton cave with there’s tour. You pay probably a little more but you will get to the lagoon way before the bog groups from the surrounding main islands. You will swim alone with the jellyfish and the nature is unbelievable without any noise. Food was ok, you dont come here for culinary experience. Thank you club tara!!! Annabel, Hazel, Lenis and all the crew! Great job!
Food wasn’t the best

There's really nothing to complain about this place, everything about it is great and I believe you cannot find any structure which looks the same with the same price tag. We also had the chance to chat a little with the owner who has lived a really adventurous life and has plenty of great stories to tell, I really hope to resemble him, even a little, when (and if) I grow old myself. Thank you Khan and thank you to all the people in the staff who were really kind and super accomodating with all of our requests
The weather, which is not really up to the resort staff is it?

Excellent location, wonderful wildlife and spectacular scenery. Bats, jellyfish and snorkelling at Club Tara were highlights! Staff attentive to our needs and keen to sort any issues that arise. Very helpful, please commend the manager. Good to see maintenance in action.
Salty showers, didn’t have enough stock of fruit, bread and other basic food sorts. I major grumbles however, positives outweigh negatives by far!

The view and nature around the resort is exceptional. I like that there were kayaks you could use to explore.
The resort is quite battered after the tyfon. Electricity was not stable which meant that a/c was on and off. What I really don't understand is that, considering that what they really have going for them is the beautiful nature and the view from the rooms, yet they have an old rusting ship right in line of sight from the rooms which tarnishes that view. Really don't understand why they haven't moved the ship long ago.

The location was phenomenal. This is the prettiest place on earth. The size of the room was also amazing. The staff were very helpful arranging tours and boats.
The difficulty getting there, it would've been helpful to get a message a day or so before saying you need to arrange a private boat to access the property.

The location is a real gem. We were there for two days and felt totally disconnected and relaxed. The staff is kind and friendly, and you can venture in the area surrounding the hotel as you please. There is nothing not to like.
Keep in mind that transportation there takes a bit of time and is a bit pricey. Don’t expect a luxurious hotel, especially after it has been destroyed by the typhoon. It’s all about being secluded in a little paradise :)
