Very characterful hotel, big and clean, excellent value for money

Finding the way to drive up to the fort is a bit of a challenge

The bed was fantastic. The room was extremely comfortable. Tye bathroom was reasonably well equipped. But it felt odd to have a full size fridge in the corner with only about five soft drinks in. The restaurant was delicious the staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We were in room 610 which was almost the furthest and last room from reception.

There were only paper cups in the room. No glasses for a drink and no China cups for coffee. For the price of a superior room I would have expected those and a coffee machine not just some sachets of Nescafé. The hairdryer was one of those fixed to the wall and you had to keep your finger on the button to make it work. As in most places the lighting was dismal.

Fantastic scenery. It was a fun experience to stay in an old castle. The room was clean, roomy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The kids loved it. A nice place to stay if you want to explore the castle or the surroundings. Definitely going to return sometime.

Some of the walls and rooms of the hotel had a very modern look. That would clash a bit with the rest of the castle theme. It was very hot during the time we stayed there. The provided fan helped a lot. But proper airconditioning would have been nice.

The location is amazing. Quite cool to stay in a castle. Great rooms and very friendly personnel. Easy parking facilities too.

The breakfast was a little limited when we arrived. For the price of it, one could expect more variety in cheese or ham and bread. But all in all it wasn’t too bad. The restaurant room colors are a little strange. The pink wallpapers don’t fit with the grey carpet neither the beige chairs nor the blue curtains.

The hotel had plenty of secure parking for our groups motorcycles. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The staff were polite and helpful. The room was well equipped and clean. The restaurant food was good and the wine was decent at an affordable price. Our touring group enjoyed the stay and the museum. Good proximity to the town.

The room was not as large as the last time I stayed there. The choice of beer in the bar was limited.

Worth staying just for the location which is very impressive. Rooms were clean with good quality finishings. Staff were very helpful and we thought the. evening meal though not cheap warranted the price and was of a very high standard with excellent service

Tea and coffee facilities in the room were poor and did not match the quality of the rest of the hotel. You can only park inside the fort between 1800-1000 or risk a fine from the police, this wasn't mentioned on the website though you can park in the public carpark which was full when we got there on a Sunday PM

Stayed here before and in a good location after a mid-morning crossing from Folkestone on the way to the Black Forest using D roads. If you do not know where the entrance is it could be difficult to find but just follow the signposts for the Fort. Very good to see how they have made comfortable rooms but kept the integrity of the old Fort buildings. Also had time this trip to do the Chateaux visitor tour and found it interesting and worthwhile with a lovely bar located at the end of it. Good breakfast and just a short walk into the old town for dinner with plenty of options.

Evening meal was very good - although a bit expensive. Shower had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Staff have always been helpful. Sedan was full of places to eat, drink, and do shopping, an indoor market is on Wednesday and Saturday.

Paper cups in the room for making teas and coffees. At other hotels we have stopped at, they have been china. This let down what is a really nice hotel. The bar was not always attended, seemed to share staff with reception.

Its not every day you stay in an ex Napoleonic Fort converted into a hotel. When seeing the hotel advertised it was eye catching to say the least. Then when you drive up through the portcullis and see the magnitude of the Fort from inside it is unbelievable, fairy tale. The scale of the walls is to behold. The hotel greeted by friendly staff and a fun room on the 1st floor overlooking the courtyard. The room had everything we needed for our short stay.

Fantastic setting in a medieval castle. Grand room. Helpful staff.

A very disappointing breakfast, especially given the price and the grandeur of the castle setting. The other chateau we stayed in (in Namur) offered eggs freshly cooked to order and an excellent choice of fresh fruit, as did a much cheaper business hotel in Libramont.
