Our stay with Lewis Pass Motel was a last minute decision due to road conditions in our original plan, and we were glad we stayed with them! Dani was such a lovely and welcoming host. She was very helpful over messages and prompt in her communications, which was helpful as we weren't sure what to expect with the various road conditions in place. When we arrived, we didn't feel like we were staying in a motel - we felt right at home. She prepared the room within short notice and it was clean, spacious and well equipped. The room overlooked open fields and mountains. If it's not too cold outside, it would be perfect to sit by the porch. There's a nearby town for food/ gas and some scenic walks in the area. It's a pity we were going over the pass and stayed only 1 night. It's definitely a place to unwind and disconnect from the world.

The location was amazing. To wake to a view of green paddocks backed by sun tipped beautiful mountains was a realized NZ dream. The owner was friendly and accommodating and the venue provided everything that you could imagine needing. Lewis Pass Motels was certainly our favorite NZ stay. Wish that we could have stayed longer to do some bird spotting in the nearby native scrubland.

I liked the amazing scenery, the friendly staff members, the adorable farm animals, the clean room & restroom, the relatively spacious rooms, the easy to use kitchenware, the stable power, the quiet environment and the young lady who gave us eggs for a cheap price along with a free, hand drawn art piece.

I think that making the internet/wifi a bot more stable could be worth looking into, so as improving the comfiness of the two single beds for the kids. Other than that I think the stay was outstanding.

Location superb as was walking at Lake Daniels. Less than 5 minutes drive to start of track. Views, fantastic . Unit was very well stocked. Very quiet. Host friendly. Good shower.

The light outside our unit was lighting up the room, after we turned the inside lights off at bedtime. Had problem with trying to get to sleep, as room was rather 'light' all night long. Thought they might have been on a timer but no. Curtain needed at the kitchen window,not a blind. Otherwise, perfect stay.

Lovely peaceful location with an amazing view. Comfortable spacious room with well equipped cooking facilities. Just what we needed after a long drive. Dani and Mark provided excellent instructions on how to find the property, and Dani greeted us when we arrived. We were able to purchase farm fresh eggs collected by their 3 year old entrepreneur and artist, who tends to the flock and draws her own unique labels on the cartons! We highly recommend a stay here.

The view from the room was fantastic - cows on the pasture and snow-capped mountain peaks in the distance, couldn't have been more idyllic! Far enough from the highway that there was no noise at all. If the location works out for your travels, I highly recommend it! We had the studio room and it was fine, great kitchenette (no oven), fully equipped. Close by, we did the short walk to the Sluice Box and stopped at the hot springs for a soak. We hiked on the St. James walkway so location was great for us.

Lovely being greeted by Dani and her daughter (with just delivered fresh eggs:) Location was perfect for me. Very comfortable and nice outlook. Liked the regular stove top (sounds odd i know but really don't rate induction). Great heat pump. Electric blanket and good parking.

The trip staying at this rural unit was our second visit, returning for 3 nights this time at the end of our tramping holiday. The unit was spacious, Dani was super helpful with our needs, such as needing to clean our boots for return to Australia, advice re local day walks,, checking we had what we needed etc. and the bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in for a long while. And the views were peaceful and beautiful.

What a location, a very small ( I think only 3 rooms on a working farm) and extremely cosy motel. The room was large and an amazing kitchen that felt like a full size kitchen. One of the best motels we ever stayed in. To top it off with, the mountain view.

Beautiful location on a working cattle ranch.Only 4 units but each has a full kitchen. Very modern up to date motel with comfortable beds.Friendly and accomodating proprietor. Farm fresh eggs for sale but only if the chickens are working.

It is in a very isolated location . The nearest store and restaurant is a beautiful 45 minute drive away through a national park. So bring food with you if you are going to cook.
